I've always wanted Intel to have a serious stab at the GPU market, but this thing has fail written all over it. At this point even the Larrabee showed more potential.

Not at all, but I'd like to see the top end model at least getting towards the 2060 Super area. The only previous one they have shown off they refused to let people benchmark it but the consensus was that it was 1050 performance.

So listen, i understand there's a big difference between igpu and dedicated gpu. But at the core is still a damn gpu, architecturally speaking.
So why is it so hard for Intel to deliver a dedicated one?
I mean they already do it with igpu's, just remove the damn cpu from the die and buff that gpu chip that you have atm and see what happens.

@Hilbert Hagedoorn actually Intel has confirmed already that DG-1 won't be seen in retail as a discrete product (as if it wasn't clear already when they said Xe-LPs upper limit is 50W). It's only available in PCIe form as a Software Development Vehicle for now, but once Xe's get released it will be only be paired with the iGPU in laptops.
