I've already seen messages of disappointment regarding the performance being way lower than promised 1000.... For some reason I think everyone misses the point - Intel was showing IOPS performance. And 5x is a very nice step. Regarding Data transfer speeds I can only say - wait a bit more, I think it will just shock everyone.

Well it's pretty much regulated to nvme on pcie lanes anyways with that speed.

It's going to be for more specialized applications.

I just want the proverbial "bottleneck" gone regarding data throughput. When reading/writing from its source storage medium to being accessed/utilized as fast as the memory and CPU is capable of doing. I might be looking for this tech along with Nvidias certified mobo's with their integrated NvME pipeline. There is another chunk of tech to drop with Pascal in the near future. Ever since the introduction of SSD's back in the day these devices still were the bottleneck although much faster than HDD's.... I still remember raiding my two OCZ Vertex Turbos that cost me just around $1,100!!! Was silly happy to hit 6-700mb/s reads and writes years ago.
