Well, this will be a bit of a headache if true...

I don't see the big deal. After 9000 comes 10000. Easier to deal with a naming scheme we already know and mostly understand, then learn a new one.

which more confusing ?
10***-series or
X***-series (chipset been named with X*** and Z*** so this might cause even more confusing) or
A***-series (hex coding 0-9 a-f)... i personally kinda like it
for codename initial wont work, so many same intial name
cascade-lake, coffee-lake etc
what u guys idea for naming ?
but i guess human used to simple numbering for new-gen/product
we almost always interpret higher number = newer / better
looking for latest product, just find the product with highest number

From 286-386-486 to 10.000.
Getting old.

Intel Core i9 10900k.
This just sounds silly.

Gives to more naming options?? It is already confusing to the average consumer as to with cpu to buy.
They should start over in the 100's .
Hyderz
Just make a new line up
i2 = Pentiums, Celeron
i4 = i3
i6 = i5
i8 = i7
i8x or i10 = i9
maybe 😛

I will be waiting for the 16666K or 19999K...
airbud7
why not use the year it came out?...ie: i7-2019 - i9-2020 then add an X or K for the high end part.
and maybe an S for the slow ones.

Enough numbers already.
Name it after their worth, demographic target audience and performance.
Nifty, Mighty and Epic. 🙄
Wait a minute, EPYC is already taken.
Intel's naming scheme is beyond salvation.

They could slice the last "0" and everything would be fine.
