Not sure why I thought today there would be reviews, anyway I am a sucker for new stuff that makes no difference in my use case 4K PC Gaming but grabbing 14700KF and sold a 13700KF just now to local buyer in my town. I am sure happy that the i7 14700k outperformed the 12600k by margins ranging from 14% to 63% across various tasks, solidifying its position among the latest CPU offerings. Even with 4 more E-Cores on 14700K it is only beating 12600K,seems shady.

It looks like the 14700k with extra E cores primarily exists to show a nice performance boost from gen 13 to gen 14. They do not dare show 13900k vs 14900k or 13600k vs 14600k. Also funny that they are keeping CS GO on the list even though it does not really exist anymore, right now Intel is getting humiliated in CS2 because of 3d cache and maybe a bad thread director not favoring P cores correctly.

der8auer already got a 14600k and 14900k. He mentions its a 100mhz bump with the same specs as 13gen parts. [youtube=OWZ3e4Mw_ZI]

As it's a socket compatible refresh a few minor improvements are fine. Of course, bigger jumps would always be welcome.

I wonder where the regrecion came from on tittles like dota 2 .... Well not that it matters since I am pretty sure with the right GPU it will spit out 300 fps + but I am really curious!

I am a nutbar,I have been saying for months I will be buying 14700KF but my finger slipped and bought a 14900KF. 14900KF same price as the 13900K but with a couple hundred Mhz more.I wonder if the 14900KF will clock better than my 13700KF

I guess this why microcenter no longer has 13700k CPU/MB/Ram bundle that was 350$ maybe they do it agian but with 14700k before go back NC

I bought a 14900KF, and I'm going to give my 13900KF to my nephew. I won't be upgrading CPU and platform again until 2026 or so.....if I'm still alive by then! 😉 According to Frame Chasers, the cores are slightly better than the 13900KS but the memory controller may be hit or miss. So essentially I'll be gaining 200mhz on the P cores and 100mhz on the E cores since I'm coming from a 13900KF. *Edit* forgot to upload the video: [youtube=ZM4nJICJJdQ]

is it even a refresh if all they do is bumping 100mhz up? 100mhz were boring when there was p4 2.8 to p4 3.0, i imagine now that we are at 6ghz.

Oh boy, Zen 5 will run circles around this nonsense "generation" from Intel.

I'm looking forward to reading both of your analysis regarding the new processor. I was tempted but then decided not to buy it for now. If I get a buyer for my 13900K, I'll make the leap. If you have time, do some benchies. I would love to see how the 14900k runs with the 4090. 🙂

But that is also fine. These are not bad they are just tiny bit pointless unless one has older then 13xxx or 7xxx. Also if one has 13xxx then selling the 13 can make sense and get this, but it's not gonna be much of an upgrade.

Intel selling same cpu twice. We've seen this already. 😀

Make sure you test them well before giving something away, because a good 13900kf might be better then a bad 14900kf from the very small selection of reviews I have seen until now. A mounting frame for a 13900k could be a better performance increase then upgrading to a 14900k. I hope other reviews after NDA drop will show the 14900k in a better light.

The difference in gaming performance between i5/i7/i9 is only by core clock 5.3ghz vs 5.6ghz vs 5.8ghz Im not that familiar with Intel cpus can 14600k be overclocked to 5.8ghz? With Zen4 7600x can easily match 7700x and 7900x core clock and gaming performance by simply tuning PBO/CO.

Should be easy. I got 5.6ghz with 13600k with very little effort, others at 6ghz. Would think 14600k @ 6ghz and above.

Damm HH review even the 14600K hit 6000Mhz ,I may buy that lol. I did buy 14900KF but maybe 14600K one when I get to the store in a hour. EDIT: Just bought 14900KF. Dropped it in same PC as sold 13700KF 4K Benchmarks 14900KF and 13700KF same FPS as expected. 14900KF 6200Mhz slower than 13700KF 6200Mhz in CPU-z/Cinebench single threaded workload. That was not a typo. Running the 14900KF 6000Mhz all P-core E-Core 4400Mhz no crashes in games like Cyberpunk after a couple hours. It was what I expected for PC Gaming but lower synthetic benchmark scores are weird but I did updated BIOS on Asus Rog Strix Motherboard and that where the difference would be I bet.

What benches are you wanting? Mine is supposed to come on Thursday, but I probably won't have time to install and tinker with it till next week. I'm not really expecting much if any difference in gaming performance, since I'm running a 4K monitor. I'm just buying it because one of my nephews wanted to upgrade his system from a 9900K to something more modern and I told him I would help him out a bit.
