And I won't upgrade until they seek forgiveness from Putin. I'll stay with an old rig. Russia provides raw materials for chip makers. You all know that we are at financial war. Prices are gonna rise more than ever before. Microchips Shortages of microchips were a major problem throughout 2021. Some analysts had been predicting that this problem would ease in 2022, but recent developments might dampen such optimism. As part of the sanctions towards Russia, the US has been threatening to cut off Russia’s supply of microchips. But this rings hollow when Russia and Ukraine are such key exporters of neon, palladium and platinum, all of which are critical for microchip production. About 90 per cent of neon, which is used for chip lithography, originates from Russia, and 60 per cent of this is purified by one company in Odessa. Alternative sources will require long term investments prior to being able to supply the global market. Chip manufacturers currently hold an excess of two to four weeks’ additional inventory, but any prolonged supply disruption caused by military action in Ukraine will severely impact the production of semiconductors and products dependent on them, including cars.
I m sorry this is not human. Condemning war comes before economical viability of products. I don't want to close an eye or two to get your raw materials, we shouldn't care.

Guys, for sure HH wanted that this thread stays on track and keep derails at minimum. I fully understand that's hard to stay on track, I was tempted to respond in some other way and without so much relevance to this thread. Wouldn't be better to create a thread only for this situation ( war) and keep it cool? Although war, oil politics and other threads are controversial by nature. Just a small reminder to keep things in the right place. Thank you all!

Russia is being abused by its "president" which at this point is a dictator, TV and Radio blackout, threats of 15 years of imprisonment for anyone speaking ill of the "training exercise". These sanctions are to squeeze Russia and force Russia to pull out of Europe and recover their economy, it is also for the people of Russia to realise how their voice can effect change. @itpro I can't tell if you're joking or being serious - it only makes sense of what you're saying if it's a joke because it's far too ridiculous, please, think for a moment. People are losing their lives in Ukraine, their home being erased and their culture, Putin wishes to eradicate, he's wants to remove the Ukrainian identity, the Ukrainian people are scared that should their country be taken over, they'll experience another Holodomor, an artificial famine in which all food produce is taken away from the country or worse. Going back to the topic of the sanctions, this is one of those efforts, to force Russia to consolidate their assets, scale back and make amends. Sadly the people of Russia will feel this, so they need to do something about it.

If Russia wins, we might see another Holodomor happen in Ukraine. Another crime against humanity on this scale is something everyone should be striving against. Including the common Russian.

The Holodomor exists only in the sick imagination of Ukrainian historians; in fact, in those years there was a famine, and not only on the territory of Ukraine. And if we talk about genocide, then it is clearly visible in this picture:
https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/9/9f/Population_of_Ukraine_from_1950_%28untitled%29.svg
Fake corporate virtue signalling as usual. How many billions of dollars of business have Intel and AMD (and every other fortune 500 company) done with the Chinese Communist Party over decades, proping up atrocities such as Uighur concentration camps and organ harvesting of political prisoners. The West only cares about Ukraine because it's a grift for corrupt politicians like the Clinton Foundation and Hunter Biden's crack and hooker trust fund.

this president of Ukraine doesn't hit the head right, he's a terrible comedian, he condemned the lives of thousands of innocents just for inflated EGO, I would be ashamed to have voted for such a being. The Ukrainian people served as cannon fodder for the plans of Biden and NATO, thousands of innocents with their lives at risk.
