So... down the road, if your smart meter reports your 50th monthly number of energy used, you'll have to calculate the continuously longer hash to even report your use? As in, for a lack of better terms on my end, the longer this system is in usage, the longer the proof needs to be, the less interesting and practicable it gets once again?

It lacks a lot of details, like, how this SSD connect to the network and what kind of OS support is needed for that.
