This will probably be a reality show soon in America. Dr. Dre just going around beating people who hate his headphones. To be fair though, while they are ungodly overpriced, they did spur an interest in high quality sound in markets that were otherwise unreachable.

Considering beats only sounds good when listening to music in that genre (hiphhop, dance, etc etc) Anything else like Rock, Metal, Acoustic even audiobooks just sounds bad. I wonder how they will sound on this monitor. If you want good all round sound and ship it with a monitor why on earth would you choose audio designed for a specific genre. No disrepect to you "Denial" but I do not class them as high quality sound at all. They are more of an overpriced brand giving an average quality product. However, who knows how the quality will be with this monitor. I can only assume Bose, would price it even more. Slap some Magnapan speakers in there and then we would hear quality 🙂

No they are definitely garbage but I feel like they forced companies like sennheiser/UE/couple others to put more of a focus on marketing and exterior design which may help drive more people to higher quality headphones. Like before beats no one from the general population was talking or even thinking about buying $300 headphones. Now I see people walking around with the stupid things in the city where I work all the time. If even a small percentage of these people venture out to other products I see it as a benefit I guess.

Built in beats audio. Thats sounds like someone's trying too sell you crap with expensive trademark. Seen this with apple few times , but "Beats audio" is worse i see.

I've seen a lot of android phones and custom roms that include beats audio. People seem to like it but personally think any software sound enhancement is a gimmick.

I spent over 300 for headphones.. only they are Pioneed HDJ-2000s.. friggen awesome headphones. They are DJ style but the sound quality is superb. Probably as close to best as you can get for the $200-400 range before going full audiophile jump to 1k+ But yeah the beats thing is getting a bit ridiculous.. especially since most people have no idea that the quality is not that great. These people are the same people who try to convince me that Bose stereos sound the best lol

The only software mod that I know to actually work was VooDoo Sound for Samsung Galaxy S1 - it had a great audio chip, and this hack was kinda unlocking its capabilities. And we're talking about software, as Beats don't make DAC's. Other than that, what can you really do? You may have static or dynamic equalizer, that for example boosts the bass, if someone likes it. For me the sound channel should be transparent. If the artists wanted the music of game/movie sound to be different, they'd already record and pre-process it this way. I like the idea of in-display speakers option, as many people working in office have no speakers and quite a few players have only headphones, and it's a good way to have such sound output from messengers notifications, or some youtube video. Other than that people should get some dedicated speakers even some $30 pair should outclass any put-some-major-brand-here display speakers.

Only 300? My crazy Dad spent around 700 on Head Phones, one of the best money can buy. It was some expensive wooden made Denon D7000 or something similar...
