Just to get this right, they do the following: - beta for ps4 first on February 12th, pc gamers a week later ('end' of February 19th) - first episode for 15$ on March 11th - subsequent 'chapters' for 10$ each (5 such DLCs), summing up in another 50$ you pay for the game, or - you can 'preorder' them for 50$ straight away if you started out with 15$, or - you can buy the full game for 60$ but - you don't get the full game before some time in Q3 or Q4 2016 Who is supposed to actually like this, besides the publisher? And I thought only tell tale would have such weird release habits. Either they are trying to get people to spend more than 60$, or they are trying to cheap out on devs so they don't even have all the maps ready for release.

I'm a fan of the Hitman games, but I'll be skipping this.

I never buy episodic games because it will annoy the hell out of me. So will wait until whole package is out.

Fail, i hope this **** won't become a new thing. episode games is one of the worst decision ever, just release the damn game.

there is two ways you can look at this its good for those that may just want to try ir out and only pay 15 and be done with it. for the fan of the series for 50 or 60 you get it all ,it does sound like a lot of content too. I like the game but I just want to hit people over the head with rocks and shoot stuff and then put it away I am not that into it that I must have all of them.

It's not so much the pricing (50-60$ isn't unusually expensive tbh), but the release time... if they'd have the game ready they'd release it now, no delays, I think. I can't come up with a reason why they couldn't offer you the same chances of buying each chapter individually, or only the first, or all of them, right now, besides them not being ready to do it, e.g. having an unfinished game at hands.

ahh Episodic game, so that will work out as it won't sell well and then will never be finished and will be abandoned.

is it just me or all developers/publishers are loosing it?

You're not the only one with that feeling, rest assured.

I had high hopes for new Hitman but this? Such a disappointment, its not a damn show but a game. I dont want to play this episodic.

I already considered the last Hitman inferior to its predecessors due to that arguably ridiculous 'Blend In' button with an energy bar. If such things thus persist throughout the series from here out on I'm not interest at all. 'Reacting better/quicker to feedback' is at best applicable towards mission design, not however towards (core) mechanics of the game. Fortunately the Hitman franchise drops in price fairly quickly. This one might does even faster than usual. Yay, I guess.

Kind of ironic that they chose a method of releasing this game that might just see the franchise killed stone dead, from the back, with piano wire. Now we got games, getting chopped up and released, season pass style, could this get any worse.

Even if it is finished, I'd bet money that it'll feel disjointed. That's a problem I've had with most episodic games, no matter how well done they don't feel consistent or flow as well as they should.

Same with a lot of films, they seem so focussed on the sequel they forget to join it up properly with the last one

Oh look... It's Valve 😛

So instead of having 1 game with the usual launch/persistent problems we'll get 6 such games each their own issues/problems that won't get fixed as they'll shove each episode out as quick as possible to get the next 'episode' ready to shove out so only a token effort to fix problems with each release! Sounds about right in how the industry is going!

Yeah I don't know how I feel about this. I don't think you can make episodic action/shooter games -- it's too jarring. Life is Strange was fine for me, it broke up the story into parts and let me have time to digest it. But Life is Strange isn't a shoot em up game -- it was entirely based on story so it worked there.

Bye Hitman, you will be missed.
