HL2: Episode 3? any news about this? Or are we going to move directly to HL3 with no concern over continuity?
We all know (from reddit leaks) Valve are working on a new Source game engine (even though there is too much competition which looks better) and I suspect they were just using existing models and artwork for testing and this guy just saw that and made a leap.
HL3 is not in development, neither is HL2:EP3 but LFD3 - totally.
The anticipation is too great for another HL game that it simply cannot and will not ever either live up to its expectation or the expectation we place upon it in our own minds.
In other words, should it ever be released, there will always be someone somewhere who is extremely disappointed.

Meh, Half one is great, for its time. HL2... *shrugs* not great, not bad, not in between either?!
Look forward to it though.

I loved HL1 but HL2 was nothing special so at this point i don´t even care about HL3... They have run out of ideas and are more concerned about Steam than making games so maybe it´s better if they don´t make any more Half Life...

I knew they were developing a new half-life game the moment the bastards at valve wore the half-life 3 t-shirt in public. after doing that, there is no way they could back out of making the game.

Do we even need L4D3?
Ok visually it will look better no doubt, but I mean it will be same old stuff again..

Its core is still killing hordes of zombies. Dunno Zombies are now so 2010 xD

I think there are some aspects to L4D they could improve. One idea would be to apply attributes to each character, for example a character such as Coach with a higher strength stat would be able to carry bigger weapons and can take more damage and/or has more health points. The more nimble characters can move a bit quicker, but more prone to damage, etc.
Want to be a certain character? Valve could implement some sort of Team Builder setup. You choose your character and campaign you want to play (or random) and it places you in an available group.
Unlockables made available in the safe rooms (weapons, different ammo, NV/IR goggles and scopes, C4, mines) after completing achievements and campaigns on each difficulty.
Drivable vehicles, because who doesn't want to run over hordes of zombies? Even half a campaign in a military humvee blasting the crap out of the environment to make a path - better make that shot on the explosives or you're all ****ed. All the while 10 steroid pumped tanks are charging after you (some of the specials change appearance due to location, this campaign would be at ground zero where they were experimenting with different chemicals, hence the tanks are bigger, faster, stronger.)
Just use your imagination, they could add so much more to an already fantastic series.
EDIT: Imagine this scene on the final chapter of the final campaign; A tank bursts out of nowhere, smashing through a factory wall out into the open, but it's not acting normal, or making normal sounds. Just as you prepare to take it on, it unexpectedly runs right by, but just as it does there's a moment where it looks in the direction of screen and gives off a look of pure fear and desperation, and then you hear it, the human part of it, a part we've never seen or heard, it wails "help" and you feel almost sympathetic - All of a sudden this huge monstrosity, something that looks like it was spawned from satans sack, sh!t that gives you nightmares just by the way it moves smashes through the same factory wall, but dwarfing the tanks destruction, it's chasing the tank, and makes quick work of catching up to it, flattening it, tearing it's head off and devouring it's entrails, squeezing them out from the decapitated area, bones crunching, blood gushing. It throws the deflated, empty tank carcass and howls a sound of true madness and torment.
It sees you.
Either sh!t the bed or lock and load.

Don't care anymore. There are such high expectations for this game that when it doesn't deliver we will have to hear about it for years. I honestly wish they would just let HL die and move on to a new IP

Depends if you enjoy the L4D formula, some do some dont, its a challenge to complete a campaign with others on expert especially on realism. Tough achievement to get and fun.
I know one thing the Zombies in L4D are the most fastest and toughest Zombies i ever come across in any zombie game. As for that Dead Island well that is one of the worst ive played regarding Zombie AI. You could literally play the game blindfolded and not be hit by zombies as there so slow and predictable.

I hated the guns in l4d, very boring to use. I hope l4d3 is better.
