I loved the original Half Life and actually recently just played through it again. To me HL2 was just as good and maybe even better and I have also recently played through it and Episode one and I'm now in the beginning stages of Episode 2. Maybe HL3 is taking so long to come out because they can't figure out how to have 3 halves of something. 🙂 Maybe the new game should be called Third Life. 🙂 I am still eagerly awaiting however they continue the line.

Don't care anymore. There are such high expectations for this game that when it doesn't deliver we will have to hear about it for years. I honestly wish they would just let HL die and move on to a new IP

People said the same thing about HL2. Valve takes forever to build games because they don't have any set schedules or even teams. When the game is ready to be released I'm sure it will be good.

Hmm. I would not mind if the graphics are not on par with other games (if they use old source engine) but i would like to see the story possibly finished.

I think it's a "safe" bet that IF HL3 ever comes out, it will feature a new source engine that will be used again in tons of games, bascially refreshing all Valve games, CS, TF etc.

Yeah, the idea of a new engine sounds good. But I guess they will just update it turn up the dials like better geometry and newish dx features. It has to be said the game play on hl games is probabley the best.

For there to be a new Half-Life would mean a new Source Engine... Without a new Source Engine there will be no new Half-Life...

People get so annoyed with Valve about Half Life, but personally I think what they have been doing in the industry instead is far more important. Having said that, I would love to see both of these games but I don't believe for one second we'll get HL3 confirmed any time soon.

If you mean Steam yeah i agree with you. It is again DRM but it is considered by many the best platform for PC games from all the companies so far even with people hating it,complaining about it could have been way worse tbh.
