The article points to a increase somewhere between 5 -15%. What I couldn't find was the unit of reference. I mean that amount of increase applies to let's say 1 GB of VDDRAM. Can someone please tell me what is what here?

Most likely this will be relevant to extreme edges of the product stacks that we will see from Nvidia / AMD / Intel. The most competitive middle ground will remain on par if not lower in comparison to current generations.

No , please no ! Anything but that ... I remember when I bought 8800Gts for 250 euros or something like this . The 1000 grafic cards are just ridiculous . At least for me

Lets say that there is graphics card with $160 worth of VRAM on it. Price of given memories goes up 20%... +$32 to total price of graphics card. They hint 5% per quarter. But in case memory manufacturers expect increased demand for GDDR6 and decreased for GDDR5... They'll invest in advance to change production capacities.

Good thing i only play Retro Games these days. No need for a new GPU or CPU.

This. I have a massive list of games that I need to catch up with. Besides, never again in my life I will pay more than 400EUR for a GPU. Also, recently did a lot of experimentation with in game sharpening + lower resolution. I have to say in some cases you can get results very close, or indistinguishable to my favorite AA method - TXAA. Result is high performance + good visuals at a drawback of slightly less crisp image. Good example can be Blair Witch - horribly unoptimized game, which is run at a lower resolution + sharpening, suddenly turns into quite a nice experience.

I'm still rockin a HD7870 :P I'll never upgrade to 4K. My next GPU (IF) will be a used RX580 or similar for <100ā‚¬.

MORE and more reasons to buy second hand GPUs, as buying new burns your pocket and your loyalty. A friend of mine just bought a Vega mining card, and runs just perfect. 200ā‚¬ gets you soo much in second hand market.

No worry, new consoles are coming in 2020. Brands are slowly repelling people from the PC. The GPU market is already a disgrace, with everything extremely inflated. Rising the prices even higher is one more reason to people turn to consoles.

Nolifers capable of disgraceful collection, will always provide for CEO and investors. Not only consumers are not willing to stop purchasing overpriced products, they are begging for more despite the fact of moving pc cost a whole level up from the past. Pitifullnes at its finest IMHO. I'd never purchase expensive overpriced product, first, as a sign of true self respect and secondly, I am spending money wisely to help other potent buyers. I'll not participate to Armageddon. Ever. 980ti is not capable of 1440 at 60fps in latest games anymore, the same with double priced 2080ti is not 4k capable 60 fps in many games nowadays. Tell me a reason to invest a huge amount of money to a dying bleeding hardware. Now I read the article, about gpus becoming even more pricey. Really? Get a life pc peasants. Life is out there. Even CEOs you overpay for their ignorance, they are getting more out of house. šŸ˜‰

If AMD manage to compete with Nvidia's top end cards then they'll be forced to be more competitive on pricing. Same goes if Intel manage to get their dedicated GPU out of the blocks this year.

Balls! I'm wanting to buy an NVidia 3xxx series GPU in 2020, I hope the prices don't increase too much - in fact I'm hoping they're gonna be better value than the RTX 2xxx cards, because they were expensive enough right!

If the milk turns sour, I'll get a second hand Vega. HMB2, can play even at 2K and not paying more than 200ā‚¬. More heat and power consumption. I'll deal with that, instead of the upcoming BS prices. Unless the RX 5600 is priced reasonably.

I have a 1080Ti so iĀ“m good for the next couple of years but the current trend of hardware prices increasing every year worries me...
