2% being what exactly? Valve covers a pretty wide range of niches. I would honestly be shocked if you didn't take advantage of at least one of the services Valve offers, or, one of the products they put R&D into. I don't care if Valve gets a larger cut of my sales, because they are responsible for much of the improvements of my gaming preferences. They aren't just sitting on their 30% cut or whatever it is while doing nothing with it. Epic loses quite a lot of money with their giveaways, in the hopes that it will get people to switch to them and make more purchases in the long term; don't expect them to do so many giveaways forever. Valve doesn't really have a reason to do giveaways because they're already popular. They instead invest their money in improving the platform and expanding to other gaming-focused technologies.

Awesome game bought it on uplay a few years ago for $2. Free is even better,I wonder now are they going to come out with a new game soon.

They have busy with the excellent Saints Row remake, and Chorus. Plus a remake of the Timesplitters franchise.

Why would they? Steam currently has a monopoly on PC gaming. There is no need for them to spend money giving away free games. Epic are currently losing money on the Epic Store in a forceful attempt at getting more users by giving games away for free and to score exclusive game releases (something which I am totally against on PC) But right now Epic Game launcher is nothing more than a Fortnite launcher. Valve are more focused on VR and now Steam Deck. Their software platform is leaps and bounds ahead of any of their competition in terms of ease of use, UI design, and most of all features built up over the past 15+ years. Could they? Sure. Will they? Not right now.

Remember to disable some cores if you are on a 5950X or the game refuses to run. From what I have read, 10 cores is the max, I enabled 8 for steam.exe and it worked.
