Nice board, though I'm going to have to dock some points for every Gigabyte motherboard that isn't blue. :P Appreciate the review, seems Gigabyte is the go-to for Z390 with their outstanding 6*2 VRM design choice for a large part of the lineup. As for the networking I'm not entirely sure I'd prefer a 2.5G Realtek networking solution over an Intel 1G personally. They may have become better over time but way back when my P965-based Gigabyte board died and I got a cheap substitute with a Realtek NIC as a replacement my in-game latency really tanked compared to the original Intel solution. Since then I've pretty much consistently avoided Realtek networking solutions. Maybe that's a worthy article consideration? I'd love to see a deep-dive comparison of various NICs with both synthetic and in-game/app latency on different connections to see how everything pairs up these days. YMMV, obviously! 🙂

Hilbert, you made a mistake when describing PCIe slots functionality. The 2nd PCIe x16 slots does drop to 4x speed when all three x16s are occupied, because the the 3d x16 slot is not connected to the CPU, it's fed from PCH as you noted yourself. So when all three are occupied, it's 8x/8x/4x.
