"Despite stable performance in 2016, in early 2017, Gigabyte has seen PC sales decrease dramatically because of weakening demand from China's PC and Internet Cafe markets. In addition, due to appreciation of the NT Dollar, component shortages, and price hikes, Gigabyte had a rather weak first quarter with motherboard shipments reaching only 3.5 million units and graphics cards 900,000."
This. You can add whole latinoamerica and other markets to that problem, crazy exchange rates due to super dolar, stagnating processor tech, nvidia increasing pricing and moving their chips one ladder down between segments... it makes too hard willing to spend that kind of money on something that isn´t even "that good" anymore... look at the 1060, can barely handle console resolution on non maximum settings, pffft playing games at the same resolution of 3 year old consoles used to be the job of $80 buck cards, not anymore.

I don't know what you are referring, but I suggest you read proper review here, on Guru3D. 1060 is more than a capable card, at "console resolution" (which is Full HD max) it performs brilliantly on Ultra settings. Don't like it - stick to you console. Problem solved.

Well, I hope they do well, they're my go-to MB brand whenever I need to assemble a new machine, never had a dud, very stable. Their graphics cards are also neat: last time I checked they had the only 1050 card offering all of pascal's video outputs (3xhdmi, dvi & dp), great for a decent multi-monitor workstation.

It doesn´t. And of course I don´t like such performance at the same resolution of 3 year old consoles, I´ve had enough cheapo cards to see that the 1060 is an overpriced entry level card... and that´s the problem gigabyte and other partners are facing, me and other people just don´t like price to performance ratio of these cards, so we buy nothing, I buy nothing, nvidia gets too greedy, partners struggle and people loses jobs just because nvidia wants to keep record revenues, because intel wants to continue screwing their consumers.

So wait. You are saying that the 1060 is a crap card?!?!? If matches the 980 pretty much across the board at $275 (when not inflated by fake currency miners) when the 980 launched at $599, that is not crap card. You're ignorance that you spew on this site is getting out of hand. Here is the crap 1060 against a 960 which is about 15-20% faster than your card. http://www.anandtech.com/bench/product/1771?vs=1744 Yep can totally see where you are coming form. :eyeroll:

Me too, I switched to gigabyte many years ago because they were using good caps on their mainstream boards.

Good move for gigabyte, changing with the market.

I don't see any benchmarks or reviews that back up your claims. Judging by your GTX 950, you have no reference for the performance level of a GTX 1060. I can guarantee from my personal testing that the 1060 absolutely blows your GTX 950 out of the water, and actually outperforms my GTX 970. The GTX 1060 is the mid range card, not entry level. The GTX 1050 is entry level, and still crushes your GTX 950. For nvidia every single generation improvement in performance from the last has never been substantial for the price premium. I haven't seen this trend change since I bought my 9600GT. If you're wondering about the current price premiums, its due to digital currency hash miners buying up all the GPU's due to Ethereum increasing in value substantially in a short amount of time. The GTX 1060 I tested a few months ago my friend bought for around $200US, now they are hard to find for under $300US. This is still substantially less than the $400US I spent on my GTX 970.

It´s not crap because it matches that mess of an overpriced card?. ok. pS.- BE POLITE OR IGNORE, OK?.

Oh how ironic of you to type "be polite" in all caps. Why should anyone be polite to you on here? Your post history is full of this unsubstantiated sh*tposting that you are currently doing. Go to WCCF Tech if you want to act like that.

The 1050 chip doesn´t crush the 950 at all, FYI, it just has the memory amount that the 950 should have got in the first place so it doesn´t choke. And the prices around here don´t move because of crypto, energy is too expensive here, the 1060 has been at 970 prices since launch, how many people outside USA are gonna fall for that?, only desperates. And what the 1060 does now, older cheapo cards did it at 40-50% higher resolution than their respective consoles.

Oh look another BS post with a percentage pulled right from your nether-region to boot. Provide proof to your claims or stop making them. 1060 in one of the most played console games at 1080 with setting higher than PS4 and XBone (which PS4 plays at 1080/30 and XBone at 1080/30 but can't hold a solid 30 dips down to mid 20's at times) at gasp 90fps average. http://www.guru3d.com/index.php?ct=articles&action=file&id=32727 That shows the 1060 is at least 3 time faster than those three year old consoles
