According to specs, that Aorus PRO seems more than enough for most users !
It really has everything needed, other that Wifi which for the large majority of desktop users is just a gimmick.

Holy cow that is over $60 bucks more expensive than the most expensive MSI B550 board. If this is true Gigabyte has shot themselves in the foot because for that price you can get a decent X570 board which has better features like dual PCI-E Gen4 M.2 Ports.
The only good thing about Wifi on desktop boards is that they offer Bluetooth for those who want it.

The issues world wide with covid19 should affect some, given that probably not as much as this motherboard is targeted, im one of those persons that hate proprietary chipset fans.... and if there is a really high end with good power delivery and good option could end up appealing to the people that didnt want to go x570 for the fans.
Maybe AMD and motherboard vendors are changing the brackets, where x will be only high end, B will be mid end (not value anymore) and A will be the value mobos.

I stay happy with my B450M Mortar MAX... & my 3900X which runns buttery smooth & even when I oc it with 223W @187Amps./1.194V the VRM says 55°C avg. (HWinfo64) with Prime 95 firing on all cylinders after 8h...

Nice looking board but im enjoying my rtx 2080sc xc @pci-e 3.0 x16 and and my 2 Corsair mp600`s at pci-4 x4 on my Asus prime x570pro, as for the chipset fan.....its inaudible not to mention the board was cheaper.

They're probably inflating prices for early adopters. Anything costing more than 160 USD will be made obsolete thanks to Asus TUF x570. Not even a fanless chipset is going to sway people away from PCIE 4.0 lanes...
I have an Asus Rog Strix X470-f and kinda regret it because of the wonky 3.0/2.0 PCIE lanes arrangement. If I use the secondary M2 slot the board deactivates two of my PCIE x1 slots, forcing me to use my wi-fi card on the bottom PCIE x16 (x4 electrically) slot. Lots of x470 boards lose sata connections if you put something on certain m2 slots or PCIEx slots as well. AFAIK x570 boards don't have these issues.

Even the most expensive B550 boards look incredible. Also, how many other boards have 3 x M.2 NVMe slots available and have built in heat spreaders for it. Clearly, there are going to be more PCIe lanes than other boards, even more than an X570 series board, by the looks of it.

These prices for mid-range motherboards are getting out of control, when a high end motherboard can go over $1K of course they are going to go up on mid-range...no reason for it at all! I wasn't thrilled about $600+ motherboard last gen, now the high end boards are double that...such BS!

no wonder they didn't want b450/x470 boards to have ryzen 4xxx support.
after 1 year of delays B550 is almost as expensive as x570

But X570 board are not so expensive a regular one is around 175 Euro whatever brand is from... it was the exact X470's price the 1st year.
Of course with all the non essential "extra" it cost around 500 Euro (or even 1000 if you need it all lol (but if you need a B450 with all those it would still cost you the price of a regular X570... up to you)

Actually, that is what does make sense a lot.
You get all that fancy equipment for a lower price than with the first-tier southbridge.
Ryzens aren't slower with a B-class SB, you know ? It's not like it forbids overclocking or something...
That kind of thinking "first-tier", "Z-class" is just Intel douchebaggery, as they artificially restricted CPU features on their B-class SB in order to sell more of the Z-class.
AMD doesn't do that, instead, the CPU runs the same on pretty much ALL SB (beside A320), while the higher tiers simply offer more connectivity.

Their difference is mostly on the PCIe4.0 links towards the chipset and the extras themselves. I guess it would be ok, but it would strike me wrong to get B550 and a 2.5G ethernet adapter on a saturated PCIe3.0 downlink.

One single lane of PCI-e 3.0 is 5 gbps.
2.5G = 2.5 gbps, half of that. If even works at full speed with one single PCI-e 2.0 lane (also 2.5)
The B550 has 4 x (3.0) lanes, which means 20 gbps to the SB, more than enough to keep the network at full speed while also 10 other things happen on the computer.
This is a non-issue.

I don't see how that is possible because they wouldn't want to alienate their customers by offering what is supposed to be a cheaper motherboard better features that an x570 would. That makes no sense what so ever just like have 3 m.2 ports don't make any sense.
