Vrms on a320 will not handle it anyway.

Very cool with this level of backwards compatibility.

Most motherboards tend to be overbuilt anyway. I also doubt that you'll get anyone buying a 5950x will be installing it in a A320 board.

I took a look at the gigabyte board, its using 4c10n and 2x4c06n mosfets per phase, they are pretty beefy, stock operation on something like a 5950x would be ok, provided there was some airflow like you get with an amd stock cooler, even without it , it should be ok, though a little toasty. edit: more confusingly this motherboard doesn't support cezanne, but it does support renoir and vermeer chips, seems like kind of a weird choice.

It depend... I have seen a A320 with 10 VRM + 2 for mem, it's the same than some X570 and better than my 2nd PC with B450 that hold a 5800 without problem. But ok it was intended to run H24/D7... and it wasn't expensive. *edit* What bother me more is that the chipset doesn't accept the fTPM despite the CPU can do it. So normaly it's a no way for W11 out of the box (despite you can install it without TPM and secure boot, if you know). *edit 2* Asrock and MSI bios are out too and confirm the fTPM turned on by default, but no 5000 compatibility for now. On Gigabyte only the V2 and V3 seem to be compatible

5600g will be fine with a tower cooler

Any chance this comes to X370? I know its a bit of a hard question to answer, but... isnt A320 the low end?

hmm not sure your right I have a media/games machine in a silverstone Sugo 12 with Gigabyte S1 A320m a 2700 gpu and a 3900x with 32gb ram and it ticks along just fine, it is liquid cooled though and the GPU fans are right next to an intake, the rad airflow seems enough to keep stuff cool behind the GPU. FWIW I also have an Asus board the same A320 and that fails miserably when pushed hard so its relegated to a dump pc for messing with linux

unlikely to see it for x370, I suspect the reason these got the update is due to the barebones bios (no fancy stuff) and that they still sell them new, this board only has a 128Mbit bios as well, which I find interesting, since it supports basically every chip released on am4 sans zen3 apus, including the pre-zen excavator apus.

Well, I guess I will wait until the new AMD cpus show up and see then what the options are.
