It's what happens , if people didn't expect this, then they are not really knowledgable about this world and their own species. Ofcourse if people believe anything , they'll be had , but this isn't a problem at all in my opinion, Overclocking isn't of this time anymore anyway. It's actually counterproductive. People need to stop going crazy all over for nothing while serious issues seem unimportant to them.
It's a hobby, totally irrelevant if it is of this time or not. For some, it's even a source of income. A lot of people care about "serious issues". They just dont voice that in certain channels/platforms. And that's not for here either.

It's a hobby but like with any competitive hobby - results matter. These results are then used in marketing, which does sway some people into buying a certain product. Any shenanigans or outright dishonesty deserves scorn and people engaging in such deception should be ostracised.

many years ago when Macintosh Marathon or duke nukem were the top pvp fps available 😀 at the beginnings of internet someone wrote a paper on competitive people both in real life and video games, and to sum it up : if you're really competitive you will cheat, if you don't you were never competitive in the 1st place because real competitors aren't there to participate they are there to win nothing else it gave several examples now very old and I don't remember them it's 20+years old on how even people who were at the top of their sport already still cheated because losing is not an option for them there are many different examples of world champions that used non "sportmanship" tactics...as usual because I'm a car guy here goes the autmobile examples : - michael schumacher "having a problem" and stopping in the middle of the track during qualifications, to ruin the lap time of an opponent - sébastien loeb having to stop before the end of the stage to waste time and not be the 1st one to go in the next stage, altough in this case unlike Michael the problem came from the competition rules not him, the 1st to go on a rally stage usually cleans the road of debris and risks potential damage from rocks etc...which isn't acceptable when you're in a good place to win back on topic, anytime you see one of those records check the motherboard layout, I think it's asrock did it again with z690 they already cheated once with a non-market engineering PCB design same thing than gigabyte "overclocking record on motherboard X" and when you check the picture it only has 2 dimm slots and not that they didn't solder the other 2 slots they don't exist at all with no traces leading to them, in other words it's a custom PCB the brand made only for overclocking as a marketing ploy EDIT : yep Asrock at it again with their fake Aqua board that looks nothing like the sold version yopu can check their previous shenanigans in this buildzoid video [youtube=uYZl7wfF0kw]

My gigabyte board can barely run stable at stock, never mind 8ghz

That's more than likely early bios revisions.

Never had a problem with Gigabyte. 8GHz seems like BS though, if not it is only applicable to certain one in a thousand binned chips with LN.

8ghz is actually supposed to be impossible with Alder Lake.... My memory has been a bit flaky the last few days, but I believe the maximum possible overclock is around 7.3 to 7.4ghz... The only way to reach 8ghz, is to "cheat"....

Just take any Asus motherboard and look at its bios history. The majority will have stability improvements.

what’s that to do with anything? X570 is near eol, shouldn’t still have issues.
