Now i only need ryzen 5000 cpu.

Too bad sam doesn't work with RX5700XT,I have the cpu but not a gpu that supports it.

Now let's see it for 400 series! Loving my 5800x.

might not be required. all ryzen chips should support resizable bar at least physically.

Now give me sam support for 400 series so my future 6800 can be fully utilized

Hopefully the Ryzen 3000 series will get supported as well.

Don't forget also adding it to Z490 mobos, thx!

My fervent hope as well since I have the 3900X (though I doubt it), I already have an X570 mobo and a GPU for it, a Sapphire Nitro+ RX 6800.

how come intel can have it, but their own third gen cant. makes ya sick dont it.

Yeah it’s stupid, even previous gen GPU’s should support it I doubt there’s any hardware optimisation in the new RDNA 2 cards or Zen 3 chips to maximise the benefits of SAM.

There is but how much of a difference it does I'm not sure as to but in theory it's handling it far better judging by the numbers I've seen. EDIT: There's were I found that again. https://www.reddit.com/r/Amd/comments/k1zutr/rumor_regarding_support_of_sam_for_older_gen_zen/
It appears SAM is more than resizable BAR. Zen2 _pdep_u32 latency is 300 cycles vs. 3 cycles on Zen3 and it appears this is used in D3D to read the swizzled GPU data from the CPU.
but also.
I've asked in the usual channel and one knowledgeable guy answered that they misinterpreted Sebastian Aaltonen comments to mean that PDEP is necessary for "SAM", which it isn't and that he was just excited to talk about it since AMD took so long to support the instruction. Radv developer Bas Nieuwenhuizen also said that it's unrelated to any interaction with the GPU since it would be non-standard and better done at texture packing time.
There's other instruction fixes too but it might be very situational where those fixes come in handy. https://github.com/dolphin-emu/dolphin/pull/9233
With AMD Zen3, PDEP and PEXT performance is restored to levels comparable with Intel's counterparts.

i notice gigabyte pulled all bios past september for the aorus master x570... odd

1.0.8.0 AGESA perhaps and the 3000 series Zen2's having done their thing and going out of availability so new revisions will have these or newer for Zen3 going forward or so I would imagine would be the most likely reason for that. (1.1.0.0 still somewhat of a WIP and 1.1.8.0 or newer probably being where most of this is going to be solved.) EDIT: Probably going to be a bit of stock and such left for the 3000 series CPU's even after manufacturing of new ones ceases but anyone picking up a X570 or B550 board for 2021 it's probably likely to be a newer revised model with a more recent bios without need for a update or the CPU which is likelier to be a Zen3 won't work at all. EDIT: Should just have shortened it to likely due to newer hardware compatibility. 😀
