Especially if it comes out in a ti/super variant. Was set on getting a 3090, but if leaked gaming benchmarks are true, 10% increase in performance is not worth the price difference. AMD cards are shaping up nicely as well. Probably be spring before prices/inventory stabilize.

Why is that?? Because the 3090 looks to be a beast of a production card on top of knocking out games for breakfast.
I guess you'd much rather be stuck with 3k+ Titans for workloads and gaming then?

I don't mind paying £1500 but more than that i'll wait it out a while. Having no GPU atm means ive actually managed to do stuff around the house!

Imho, this card is a fail. Even as a pro I'd consider buying two 3080s for compute power before spending more than twice the money on 10% plus. But maybe matters are more complicated in the pro environment, but for gaming this card is a horrible buy.

I imagine folks will argue that it's super future proof due to the vram.
No way nvidia would have released 20gb 3080s before this card, Nvidias hopes folks that are put off with the relatively small 10gb on 3080s will just grab one of these.
That's when 20gb 3080s will release, once enough of these have been bought up.

I assume the price will keep most people away. The I must have it today people typically wont have $1,500+ laying around anyhow. Any sensible person will laugh at the 3090 because 10% more performance for 2x the cost is some nonsense. I do think Nvidia's pricing means they think AMD will compete with the 3080 but not the 3090. I'm just spectating until AMD has cards out and reviewed anyhow.

Nah, they are waiting on AMD, AMD top card will have 16GB of VRAM, if its close or hell even beats the 3080 then people will buy it so obviously Nvidia would pre empt that with a 3080 20GB model, if AMD manages to equal the performance they will just bring out a 3080TI with 16-24GB VRAM and a 3090TI as the 3090 isn't the full chip, if they have to they will release it all at the expense of the first adopters, they have done it many times before especially with Titans

I found a great direct-from-manufacturer outlet on ebay through all this, if they list a 3090 with offers available i'd for sure consider them again.
