I may be completely daft, but was that sarcasm, or not?
It was meaning even a midrange gpus today are a luxury, sadly.

Undying:

Yeah and a midrange 3070 600$ is a steal.
Well no it's not. But at least for mid range cards, there's competition. You can buy cheaper mid range parts.

Yes it was sarcasm. But he's right as well, I have to agree. Top cards show a different picture though, with no competition (at least not until RDNA2 hits the shelves). There is no choice if you want top dog. Like you said, for that top card one has to have more cash at hand for our hobby / luxury.

Well, yes, that sadly is the truth.

You're right. If you want to play current games on the best possible picture and/or framerate, you have to accept the steep prices. It wasn't always as bad (my venerable GTX 670 was nowhere near the price of what the 3070 is probably going to be), but times change.

Excited for the wait to be over. My 1080ti has been an amazing performer but I'm ready to snag a rtx3080 when preorders open up.. don't think my case is big enough for the 3090

You need oxygen, water and food, in that order of priority. If money was an issue then PC gaming would be way way way down my list of priorities. I have been poor, not eating shoe leather poor but just be able to pay the mortgage and bills at 24 with a young family. I didn't have. PC then, nor a consol nor anything that wasn't essential. Life is different now, I have a significant amount of disposable income each month, due to hard work, a little luck and some entrepreneurial risks taken along the line. I'm still not paying a kidney for a piece of PC hardware though.

Loobyluggs:

Yup - heard that...and right now, lots of people have zero paychecks, yet LJJ thinks that charging $1,400 for a graphics card is perfectly acceptable.
Well in his billionaire head he is practically giving it away for free at that price. If he had his way (ie he thought he could con commoners to pay it) it would be $3000+ I reckon.

I mean, I technically have the money saved up even up to a 3090 (thanks COVID for keeping me the f*** home during vacations), but it's still hard tu argue such price. Also, the power intake may be a bit too much for my tastes (we'll see once the benchmarks hit).

I'm here for the giveaway

According to what I have heard on some youtube channel (from their NVidia source), the availability of the 3090 will be absolutely tiny, and not until end of this month, so even if you have the money and want to buy it, you probably won't be able to for a good while yet.

Not for me it's bed time with alarm set for 15 min before see yall then! My $2106.47 (needed to cover if the card cost $2000 USD +my tax in my state) is ready to go in my internet spending account. But let's pray tat I won't need to spend all of it tomorrow! Or whenever they go in pre-order.
So you are going to spend $2000 or even $1400 on that shit? Well, you justify that you are an easily milkable person.

The winners will definitely be those who waited until now to buy used GPUs at great prices from early adopters.

Even at 3000, he would probably think that it´s still to cheap... 😕

Eeexactly. I'm scoping out for those 2070 Supers as soon as these 3000 cards hit the market. That's the only reason I'm excited for this new line-up! Name your price and bring 'em on in, Nvidia!

If 3090 is below 1500euros i'm getting one, but that's really because i have a youtube channel which will cover the cost of it fairly quick.
