Questionable choice. Thats right after amd unveil the navi cards so nvidia could loose many sales if it turns out good. Maybe the card do not meet the expectations and need more polish.

Well this sucks, it sucks badly. Now i get to game on my Gtx 970 even longer 🙁 .If i wont be able to get a 3070 on that date, then i will definitely go AMD.

Be patient, wait for reviews before making a decision 😉

This could be a blessing in disguise because we don't need another fiasco like we saw with the 3080s and 3090s and this could add another coat of polish so to speak.

I'm sure this is mostly to do with Nvidia ensuring stability, since this product is probably going to sell better than the 3080 and therefore Nvidia (or really their partners) needs to make sure they're not overwhelmed with returns. It's possible they're holding it off while they wait for AMD but the product is pretty much already made, so, unless they somehow manage to boost the clock speeds and maintain stability through a driver update, it's not like they can use the 3070 as a response.

Day after the RTG announcement, makes sense, jebaiting tactics. 🙄 😱

I'm really curious now what will AMD showcase... nvidia is paper launching, having low stock at launch, CTD issues, and now this... feels like they're trying their best to hinder AMD, who has a better product this time

Availability of these next-gen cards isn't going to be good. Patience needed not just for reviews, but, to actually get one.

You’ll notice they did not specify the year of release, just the day of release. Also note the name of the card....3070. The naming scheme believed to be the successor of the 2000 series is actually the year of release for each respective card to the consumer market. The real release date of Oct. 29, 3070 is revealed.
Wut

Uhmmm.. Not one comment on the reason why? Simple. To have MORE 3070 cards to actually sell to customers they postpone for two weeks.. It is all over the interwebs. Good decision too so they can hopefully get like 1K more cards available worldwide /sarcasm off :P Nvidia would not even have released the 3080 or 3090 if they did not know that AMD is close to releasing a 3070/80ish candidate. Panic move to get their shit out first without actually having basically ANY cards to sell worldwide either AIB or FE versions. I can count exactly 0 ppl in all my gaming clans around the world that got to order any of the cards at all.

It literally says that in the article. Obviously everyone is going to speculate the opposite.

i hope the 3070 ti comes out this year 🙂

Even if the 3000 had had plenty of supply, I'd have still waited until AMD has revealed its cards. So this schedule shift doesn't matter much to me, even if 3070 is a potential candidate (though certainly already stuck firmly to the price ceiling).

8GB x70 card in 2016 8GB x70 card in 2018 8GB x70 card in 2019 8GB x70 card in 2020 ? Nvidia, No, thank you. You can shove your stagnation where the sun don't shine. I'm done. Pascal is the last NV for me.

Anyone still using their 970 has more than enough patience for a mere month.

Its much faster that 2070, but do you remember when 970 was launched just for $329 and 1070 for $379?

I'll decide in 2021 what to get, until then my 1070 will do just fine. I first need Zen3.

Just buy at the price point then? I'm not sure why so many people fixate on product tiers. The 3060, whenever released, will probably perform significantly better at it's intended resolution relative to a 1070 and 970 at their launches. I know this because the 2060 already does. If you take a 2060 and benchmark it across all modern AAA titles (when it launched) at 1080p, then do the same with a 970 with it's AAA titles (again when the 970 launched) the 2060 massively outperforms it. Nvidia is just shifting the product tiers up because more people are buying 4K/Ultrawide/etc monitors now - so the range of products needs to cover a larger range of available "performance targets". I think people need to start looking at the product tiers as if they are named for a given performance at a specific resolution and not for a given performance at a specific price point.
