Ti comes first? What just happened?

Make me wonder how RT stuff will run on this card, if we can expect 60 fps with RT stuff enabled at 1080P or if DLSS will be needed.

Im more curious if price can be lower than 399$. Maybe if amd have something good it will.

Yeah, I'll need to see the Guru3D reviews first to make any decisions, but the 8GB is certainly good news. It would be a really bad idea to go lower than that in 2020 if you are planning to play modern games. Back in the day I did buy 560 Ti to play Skyrim. It was a good card.

Does that mean 3060 will be a 6gb card?

seems like a binned version of 3070 I'll wait to see whether there will be a non-Ti version of 3060 with smaller die AND with 8GB of RAM - if I'm gonna pay a lot of money for a new GPU, I'll definetaly want a RAM upgrade as well from my current 1060/6G

Thats why Im not even interrested in the 2nd hand 2080ti for 40% of the price it used to sell for 2 weeks ago. That card just sucks, its not even usable for raytracing. Cant run Metro at 1080p 60fps with RT on. Ppl who payed 1200USD for this piece of garbage got what they deserved for supporting the mindless ripoff products. They got effed as a gift from the company they supported as well.

Nvidia screw them over like the rest of the 2000 series users but to be honest it was the fastest card for 2 years. What other options do they had...

Now I'd love to see a real-world benchmark, with RT performance in focus. On the slides, they've stated that the new RT cores has about 1.75 times better performance than the current RT cores. 2080ti has 68 (1st gen) RT cores, 3060ti has 38 (2nd gen) RT cores. Which means, it's about 66 1st gen RT core equivalent, ie. it has virtually the same RT performance as the 2080ti. I'm really curious, as I'm most interested seeing ray tracing on my monitor.

The other option was basically just the 1080ti.. so yea, if you need that - I dunno - 10 to 20% more rasterization performance boost and its worth like 700 USD premium over 1080ti... than maybe money is not issue and thus loosing now 100s of USD during the night on a GFX card is not a issue as well 🙂 Because rasterization performance is what it was about till the release of 30xx generation. Those few games with poorly implemented effects which reduced you to 1080p/60 was really not worth that IMO. NOW The REAL RT era is finally here, in a sense that the basic 3060(ti) which is a 1080p card can actually run RT at 1080p/60 (like the 2080ti, BUT THAT WAS a 4k/60fps card) - its finally in equlibrium. So for me, my new card needs to have at least a medium RT performance, and 2080ti does not have it... 3080 has that, or maybe 3070ti...3070 - not really impressed with that card honestly, 3080 looks like a better price/perf this gen So this leads me to the conclusion, that 2080ti is not worth more than 3060(ti) and that will be like 400 bucks. Because 2080ti will now offer you just a lackluster low end RT, and I really think the RT will be a thing in 2021-2023, where majority of AAA games will have that included. So unless you want to play without RT, or with a RT performance of a low end card, 2080ti is DEAD. I will not buy that card even for 400 bucks used. It was basically a 800 USD DEMO of 10 games 😀 Hope it was worth it.

Nvidia making those of us that skipped last generation smile a little bit. I am still waiting on Navi before I upgrade. I want to see all the cards on the table then choose.

I think used 2080 Ti's will hit 300 USD due to price pressure and 3060 Ti will be 399-449 USD. Both would be a good GPU for non RT games and we have to wait and see how RT performance will be before we judge if the minimum will be 3080 or 3090 or whatever AMD puts out next.

Even at $400 this would be major bang for your buck.

2060 6gb was 349$ and 2060 super was 399$ so i would doubt that.

Nicely put. This will be truth for the 1st batch of 30xx cards, but those are the cards I dont really want. Im very sure there will be a "super" or whatever line of cards with double the memory. And it will hit as soon as AMD releases their 16gb VRAM cards. At that point, all cards will be at the table and the time to pick your poison will come 😀 Until that happens, the early adopters will buy out the cards nobody should buy... same as it happened with the 20xx serie. The updated nVidia cards + new AMD cards will drop, increasing the supply, while the demand will be lessened by the amount of early adopters. Time to buy.
