So after reading the review i have a few considerations about the cards: - the 2080Ti is a beast, as expected, but the 30% average performance increase is simply to small to justify the insane price increase! - the 2080 is a joke, a bad one. My 1080Ti is still laughing at it... - this release is an huge mess for Nvidia something that i wasn´t expecting. You can´t go telling the world that Ray-tracing is the holy grail of gaming and that we need to buy a RTX card to enter this amazing world right now and then when the reviews are up and the card is on sale there´s not a single game with Ray-tracing!!! What was Nvidia thinking??? This is so stupid!!! Great review as always Hilbert!!! And kudos for all the effort, writing all this stuff must a ton of work, you must be the superman of hardware reviewers...

First Nvidia release in 15 years that I will skip. The 2080 is an... Utter. Total. Fail. for its price vs last gen (1080ti) at similar price point. Now I can understand why Nvidia had to include the 2080ti with the 2080 launch (instead of several months later). Without the Ti in this launch, the RTX series would have been a total PR and marketing disaster, as they would have no card that could beat last gens 1080ti! Oh well, lets see what late 2019/2020 brings to the table (incl next gen consoles).

Underwhelming tbh. Prices are stupid. Best for money is 1080 ti really. Lets see after 3000 series and navi again.

Reviews appreciated. RTX 2080 vanilla pre-order canceled. 1080 Ti staying with me until next series or AMD's answer. 2080 vanilla seems like a decent upgrade over 1080 vanilla, not 1080 Ti. Heck, the TI was winning in 4k in some benches, I assume that gap will close and even change to 20xx side with driver maturity (and rigging on old hardware as always). The 2080 Ti is a beast. Not worth the price for me. I don't give a flying **** about Ray Tracing until I can do it at resolutions that are standard in 2018, not 2008. And again, current consoles are sticking around for another year, this series isn't necessary for ports. The 10xx series has more than enough power for that.

The technology probably cool.. but it's not here yet. The performance is too little for too much money. Overall disappointing for me. I said earlier in the year that Nvidia would be stupid not waiting for 7nm and if they did launch on 12nm it wouldn't be worth buying. I stick by that statement. Not impressed with this.

I see a few issues here, yes the performance is good, but... 1) Too expensive 2) The Ti is LOUD!

Ofcourse the card is lovely, don't think anyone can deny that... but the price to performance is all over the place, the GTX2080 runs mostly similar to a 1080ti for the same price, even though it should be cheaper And the 2080ti, why that cost even exists, the performance gain was as low as a 25% jump, for something that costs around £400+ retail, is absurd. My only hope is AMD comes out with something to smack nvidia around for this nonsense

Even brand new just checked there is around £100 dfference between 1080ti and 2080, This has got to be one of the worst launches i've ever seen. and going off some reviews OC the 1080ti performs the same and sometimes even better

They can't- since there is a massive stock of Pascal cards that AIB partners need to sell and they can't coz the GPU mining is dead and you can buy same cars @Half the price or even lees +warranty lol.

Do you guys think that still worth buying a 1080 or 1080ti thinking about future games? 3-5 years I play in 1080p, but you know... future games will tend to be a lot heavier even in 1080p, maybe (probably) they will require the newest generation of cards.

So I downloaded all 4 videos between TAA and DLSS and color me impressed. I used Jdownloader, copy and pasted the video links, and selected the 4K VP9 videos, even though I watch it on 1080p screen, it would be all relative. DLSS AA looks practically as good as my old 6950 unlocked at CFX 16xRGSSAA. Should be since Nvidia sampled at 64xAA -- er I mean "trained" their AI to inference... 😛 Great job again Hilbert and agree DLSS is something to consider. Too bad no one can use it yet and there does appear to be more stuttering with DLSS ON. But I think it would better for both current Nvidia and AMD GPU users to just buy a second used GPU and enable 16x or 32xAA modes (SLI or CFX AA). It does work in games that don't even support SLI or CFX yet you get way better AA with a second GPU and still cheaper than the 2080Ti. I would take twice the ROPs, twice the power and heat, just to (mostly) guarantee great AA anyday. No RT features but heck no game support yet anyways... That TAA just looks like a blurry mess to me. Maybe its the DOF but TAA does not look good quality wise compared to RGSSAA, to me personally. For future videos, can we all agree to turn OFF DOF so we can see the crisp background and foreground quality? PS: For those guys throwing out their 1080Tis to go 2080Ti, let me know! 😛

1080 ti would be massive overkill for 1080p, but if you could get one cheap 2nd hand, then you'd be good to go for years 🙂
