it's live fellas !

Thanks for the review. Lol performance is even more disapointing than expected. Again glad i cancelled my preorder.

Where's the guy saying that 2070 is faster than a 1080 ti ? 🙂
data/avatar/default/avatar28.webp
They could had named them 1090 and 1090ti considering the price range and performance. Sure its an upgrade but at the high cost of €. If atleast they released a card at the same price range of an old gen card (1080ti?) that performed better than that... fine. But this feels like an expansion of the current gen under different arch and the usual Nvidia gimmicks

what?
In non of the games tested was the 2080 ti anywhere near 50% faster than the 1080 ti, as nvidia had otherwise claimed. It is roughly 35% faster, just as in the leaked benchmarks. Going from the previous gen x80 ti to the new gen x80 ti, it's the smallest performance increase in recent gens. Only the upgrade from 480 to 580 was smaller.

This kind of performance was expected given the specs.

Considering the price of the 2080 and most probably bad Ray Tracing performance compared to 2080ti... I cannot imagine who would be buying it instead of 1080ti or as an upgrade. Although the 2080ti performance is very impressive, the price tag is just insane at the moment.

Somethings odd with a few of these benches. I perform on average 10+ fps higher than what showing in these charts with my 1080ti with a old 5820k. The witcher 3 bench is spot on for what i do, with a average of 108 fps 1440p ultra for me, but ones like wolf 2 which I do around 144 1440p and far cry 5 I do an average of 110 instead of the 101 it shows, something seems iffy. What clocks were the 2080ti running at during these benches, and what was the 1080ti running at core clock wise?

2080Ti is a must for 4K users and maybe UW 1440p but not for the rest of the crowd.

There's nothing wrong here. HH is using FE cards that are clocked lower than 3rd party cards so your Zotac probably has a +150MHz lead over an FE card which does a lot to the FPS.

1) We use reference cards 2) you use a different PC 3) scenes differ and vary in FPS You cannot literally say hey Guru3D is seeing 90 FPS, but I get 100 FPS. We test (as much as we can) in the more stringent on the GPU areas. But the test results are always an indication of performance (hopefully as close to your as possible), however since we always test in the exact same scenes, that is the basis of comparison and our reference point.

Think HH is right about his cards sound levels being off. Checked out some other reviews and for idle and gaming sounds are "pretty damn quiet".

hi. Depends on titles I guess. RTX performance is very different depending on the title and DX11 and DX12. For BF1, RTX1070 might still take over GTX1080Ti. The different also massive between DX11 Firestrike and DX12 Time Spy. Actual RTX1070 release would be interesting. EDIT: However, so far, it makes sense Novidia went with different naming RTX, cause performance might not scale as nice as GTX did. So yeah, doesn't look good. Unless Nvidia pulls some boost with drivers and game optimization, GTX looks much better for price / performance. Maybe RTX1070 is not released cause performance is crap and overtaken by GTX by large margin. To me RTX looks more like a scientific / prototype card, bringing more features on the table, rather than a FPS powerhouse.

Great review. 2080Ti ~ 35% faster than 1080Ti RT useless at this moment DLSS useless at this moment - per game support instead of near universal AA coverage. I know it will get better for both RT and DLSS but caveat emptor for early buyers unless they are already at 4K Honestly, the videos for DLSS didn't look good due to video compression on my system so I won't comment on it further but ~ 20% performance boost is good. Quality I have to see for myself. Can someone compare a 1080 Ti OC'ed vs 2080Ti without RT and DLSS? Lastly, I wish Nvidia released a 2080 Ti GTS... no RT cores for 300 USD less. Maybe no Tensor until they get enough developers on board. That would be a great buy until the RT tech matures to be really useful. Make one kick ass 4K 80-90 FPS GPU across the board... PS: AMD see GTS comment! 😀

Yea, I always come to guru3d for the legit reviews and I know fps differs for each user. Just ones like the wolf 2 bench seemed super odd to me as I do 40+ more fps on average then the one shown for 1440p. Seems a bit high for even being a different system. IDK, maybe I'm just crazy or it's another case with wolfenstien performing oddly well for me. I remember the first wolf game that came out back in 2015 I think, and I managed to get sli to work perfectly for it on my old 770s with a amd system, but when I jumped to the intel cpu, I couldn't get it back working no matter how much I tried. I do know that the witcher 3 chart you have for 1440p is spot on what I get even with an OC on my card. I'll have to get some of the other games and see what fps I get in them and compare from there I guess...

4K performance increase and 2 generation comparison with starting MSRPs: 1. 1080Ti - 2080: 9% for same price (or +50$ for the 2080) 980Ti - 1080 was 39% for -50$ 780Ti - 980 was 9% for -150$ 2. 1080Ti - 2080Ti: 39% for +300$ (more like 350$ actually) 980Ti - 1080Ti was 83% (!!!) for +50$ 780Ti - 980Ti was 43% for -50$ And yeah, +50 (2080) and 40 (2080Ti) power consumption. I just hope that everyone is thinking this over and stop ordering. This is a massive disappointment.

Really? looks pretty good here. it was recorded at 80 mbit @ 3840x2160. Internet connection slow?
