The biggest part of the price is packaging and marketing...

Its sad but probably true along with shipping and everything els. But it is nice to see some new lower end card for older/htpc's.

Limited by a 64-bit memory bandwidth though.

Don't think that will hinder 4K video.

True, but budget gaming....

GT 1030 should not be considered for gaming. Minimum should be 1050 or 560.

I doubt someone will actually play on this. Any chance this card can be used well for Physx as an example?

The 35 watt tdp is the only important feature of this card, a gtx 1050 is just slightly more expensive but twice as powerful.

I dont undrestand who is card intended for.

HTPC with 4K and offices that want to switch to 4K (document driven places that currently use dual monitors could switch to a single 32").

Why do you make countless useless posts in NV threads? Obviously this isn't for 4k gaming and you know that. and you know integrated has limited abilities for multi monitor or even light gaming. Pretty sure you are smart enough to already know those things so again, what's up with the useless posts?

This card has a 35 watt tdp, which means that it uses very little power and produces little heat compared to other graphics cards. I can think of at least a couple of instances where this might be beneficial, can you?

I would use it for physx by those really buggy games, should be more then enough if that 64bit bus gives 70GB/s+

I don't understand why people continue to ask this question, when for the past 3+ years it has been known that GPUs have gotten good enough that having a 2nd GPU for Physx generally hurts performance.

^ not only that but how many newer games even use physx anymore?

the 1st price of gtx 1050 is 99.85 Euro... the gt 1030 is for updating old PC and some HTPC that doesn't have enough powerfull iGPU/APU

I do know it but i like when you explain it that furious. :P Still, 1050 is where its at and what people should aim for atleast.

I'm sorry that you think you know everyones finances. I actually know someone who is using an 8800 GTX he was given for free still, but it very much in the realm of dying, and is looking into a either getting a GT 740 or 1030(which the 1030 looks to be the performance of a 750 ti), and even spending that much is not ideal for him. He's almost wanting to just go on ebay and buy a hopefully good working much older card for around $40, but wants to see if its worth it to buy new. In before "Well if he can't spend $110 on a graphics card he shouldn't be gaming" nonsense comment. Also, the GT 1030 is aimed to go up against the RX 550, why exactly isn't there flack about that card?

This clearly is an office PC's or HTPC's card. Can see that working pretty well. Not sure why somebody wouldn't see this... oh yes it doesn't have a red sticker on the box. 🙄 Also I always welcome passive low end GPUs, especially for HTPC it's always nice to have, if you're sound sensitive and that thing is standing right next to the TV for instance. Sadly, they're not really single slot cards for very small form factors. Passive cooling comes for a price in space I'd say.

This card is perfect for my optiplex I'm using as a HTPC (it was free just need a drive). It has room for a double width card but must be low profile. Hope the passive cooled ones come in around $60-70.
