Man look at the 2060 almost doing it as well ... If that is not a proof of how well optimized the doom games are i do not know what is 🙂

Some very impressive numbers there with DLSS enabled at 4k.

Game runs fine even without it and looks better.

3070ti and 3080 @ 4k without dlss has big performance gap.. is it the 2gb vram difference?

Yup, especially at 4k where 8gb vram is not enough.

Yup, if You wanna nV You'll need to go for 3080Ti or 3090 to have some ease of mind for 2-3years, then 12GB will be not enough (for some games even at 1440p).... GDDR6X needs 2GB per stack ASAP. I will wait for 3xxx refresh with more VRAM or wait for 4xxx series or some good priced 3090 😉 For now Vega XTX is good enough 😛 🙄 im not in a hurry, pile of games waiting for me (me looking at Epic Library + GoG + Steam 😱)

Nice update, too bad games sucks.
Its pretty good game. You should try it sometimes.

Wow! 75% Improvement...that's a lot!

deusex:

Bought it the day it came out. Nothing like previous Doom games. Jumping around and solving puzzles for most of a game in small map setting is not a doom game, but lazy part on devs for quick profit. But that is just me.
i had to use trainer to jump across... that bad

Just put up a video last night on YouTube of the entire first level in RTX quality, nightmare settings and 5120x1440. Have one up of the first level to without the RTX implementations from my 2080Ti setup. Original version [youtube=J9Xtuiv68O8] RTX version [youtube=ODuyJCtVUG8]

Played the game at 3840x1080, Ultimate Nightmare presets, RT enabled and it ran just fine at about 120fps to about 200fps. This game is damn well optimized, why can't all games be thus optimized?

[youtube=V2HKm6B9EsY] Using more Vram then Dram LMAO!!!!!! 3440x1440 max with Ray tracing over 100 fps 2080ti using about 10 gigs Vram

Amazing indeed. Id tech optimization team should get an award. It would also not be possible without vulkan api.

@Sixtyfps - Yep, I played the game at 3840x1080 and VRAM usage was bordering 10GB, I guess that's why DLSS is needed, especially for the RTX 3060 Ti and 3070/3070 Ti, 6GB and 8GB isn't enough without DLSS for games like this at high res.

Raytracing and dlss uses even more vram so you contradicting yourself.

DLSS lowers VRAM usage. RT increases it but he's saying with RT on DLSS OFF it was close to 10GB limit and that's why DLSS is needed with those cards.

Really? I was sure dlss by itself also increases vram usage.
