So its basically a 5700 but with 6GB , this thing will be faster than 1660Ti but won't exactly reach Vega56 level..
This being only 288 GB/s, Vega56 does a 410 GB,s so it will be intresting to see just how close will it come to the vegas or 1070Ti

Price it right, you have a winner.
Price it wrong, people will buy Nvidia out of anger and disappointment and better price/performance ratio.
AMD, just hope you know how to put a price on that darn thing.

Most people only care about price/performance and It has always been one of the most important aspects in buying GPUs.
A new generation of GPUs coming with stagnant price/performance or even worse than last generation is bad. That's why a lot of people also complained about the initial RTX cards, Pascal were cheaper and offered equivalent performance.

Quite pessimistic attitude here. Navi is certainly an overpriced line-up, just like RTX line-up is heavily overpriced, but compared to RTX Navi is a better buy. The problem currently with Navi is the yields which means AMD is not eager to compete with price for a month or two before stocks get better. They have the product ready now and it is good, so what will happen in january or february is tuning down to a competitive price point. For now Nvidia product between 200 - 300 € might be the better deal and there is no real issue if consumers are happy with what they get, right? Also like mentioned AMD tries to get rid of Polaris stocks before the price drop. As a product all Navi variants are good GPUs with nicely maturing drivers (quite quickly this time I'd say) and soon enough they will be very appealing.

AMD has to keep this at or slightly below $300 to make sense considering brand new RX 5700's can be had for around $360.

UPDATE: $319.99
Should be below $300, since you can get a 5700 for only $329.99.

lul, me stick to my 6gen old GPU- wows is just working fine, ( also finished crysis, deus ex, assassin creed , skyrim...... )

5500XT should have replaced RX560 at the 150€ mark. Instead, its just another Polaris refresh disguised as Navi.
Performance is very close and neither are loud cards. RX580 has 185W TDP while RX5500XT has 130W TDP. That difference isn't going to break the bank over 2/3 years compared to the price.
AMD has a good record of driver support. Will I get all Navi features? Of course not. But I'll change GPU again in 2/3 years, hopefully by then AMD cough up with NGreedia.
580s where at 400€ 1 year ago, and they're the same performance as 5500. I think they should be comparable.
There was nothing cheaper or close to this in price/performance. 1650 Super is 200€ or more.

The Sapphire Pulse 5700 is 388€ here.
I doubt the price drops before the 6000 are announced.
No, RX5500XT is small Navi, the one used in laptops. The best chips go to Apple, we got the worse ones for desktop.

That's an option, but what if I need to RMA it? I'll have to pay for shipping and wait for resolution (that could take weeks). Buying at a shop guarantees me I can solve an issue cheap and easy.
I never left Portugal, I have no idea how to travel. But thank you very much for the ideas!
PS: The RX500 price was burned because of mining. Here shops prefer to scrap inventory because the insurance will pay for the acquisition cost. So price will hold firmly for months until new stock with lower prices come in. I've heard they had 130 units of my GPU in warehouse, that's why I bought it so "cheap" (159€).

That memory configuration is going to cripple this card.
