So its basically a 5700 but with 6GB , this thing will be faster than 1660Ti but won't exactly reach Vega56 level.. This being only 288 GB/s, Vega56 does a 410 GB,s so it will be intresting to see just how close will it come to the vegas or 1070Ti

Price it right, you have a winner. Price it wrong, people will buy Nvidia out of anger and disappointment and better price/performance ratio. AMD, just hope you know how to put a price on that darn thing.

They already failed with 5500 price, I don't expect anything new here. I bought an RX580 out of petty and because it was the best deal I could find for 158.67€. Equivalent RX5500XT is selling for 245€, what the hell AMD?

the 5500xt is not equivalent to the 580. Noise/heat/power comsumption differ. Driver support will differ in the future. 580s are leftovers, and are at discount. I do not think you should compare the prices of the two. You made probably a good deal for 159 eur.

Most people only care about price/performance and It has always been one of the most important aspects in buying GPUs. A new generation of GPUs coming with stagnant price/performance or even worse than last generation is bad. That's why a lot of people also complained about the initial RTX cards, Pascal were cheaper and offered equivalent performance.

Quite pessimistic attitude here. Navi is certainly an overpriced line-up, just like RTX line-up is heavily overpriced, but compared to RTX Navi is a better buy. The problem currently with Navi is the yields which means AMD is not eager to compete with price for a month or two before stocks get better. They have the product ready now and it is good, so what will happen in january or february is tuning down to a competitive price point. For now Nvidia product between 200 - 300 € might be the better deal and there is no real issue if consumers are happy with what they get, right? Also like mentioned AMD tries to get rid of Polaris stocks before the price drop. As a product all Navi variants are good GPUs with nicely maturing drivers (quite quickly this time I'd say) and soon enough they will be very appealing.

AMD has to keep this at or slightly below $300 to make sense considering brand new RX 5700's can be had for around $360.

When did Budget/Midrange gamer ever cared about Heat, Power consumption or even Noise? below the $600 price range, we care Perf/Price, Only high end guys care about those details.

in the past for 500deutchemark (250e) u buy a decent system with AMD barton 2500 and a midrange nvidia gpu. today with all thoose " advanced technology " for 450e u only buy a middle range gpu alone ??? lul, me stick to my 6gen old GPU- wows is just working fine, ( also finished crysis, deus ex, assassin creed , skyrim...... ) so just dont do it :P

@asturur 5500XT should have replaced RX560 at the 150€ mark. Instead, its just another Polaris refresh disguised as Navi. Performance is very close and neither are loud cards. RX580 has 185W TDP while RX5500XT has 130W TDP. That difference isn't going to break the bank over 2/3 years compared to the price. AMD has a good record of driver support. Will I get all Navi features? Of course not. But I'll change GPU again in 2/3 years, hopefully by then AMD cough up with NGreedia. 580s where at 400€ 1 year ago, and they're the same performance as 5500. I think they should be comparable. There was nothing cheaper or close to this in price/performance. 1650 Super is 200€ or more.

$699 was the 1080ti price tag. Since when $600 is the upper end of buget cards? since when the 5700XT is way below a budget card? I mean guys, yes between a 250$ 5500xt and a 160$ 580 i would probably look for a cheap 590 and then in case buy the 580, but i would not complain about the 5500XT pricing if i consinder 600 still budget cards.

It can be that price under the holiday season 2 weeks after launch. The 5700 can be found at 330 now, with a bit of luck, but was more than its mrsp after 2 weeks. Is the 5500XT a polaris refresh? i missed that.

500 DEM also bought you a nice Trabant, but nowadays everybody needs at least a Volkswagen, which costs a whole lot more. What can you do?

No, it's an (almost) half cut 5700XT - therefore the price (starting MSRP) should have been also half of that, or less. Considering the performance falls between RX580 (154EUR, was 139 just 2 month ago) and RX590 (169EUR - 10EUR Newsl. coupon = 159) or a GTX1650 Super (159EUR) and GTX 1660 (199EUR), while you can buy a 1660 Super for about the same price (225EUR) as currently available in Germany/Austria (Geishals/Skinflint prices compared 5 Min. ago). If i add that Vega56 was on sale for 240EUR just 3 days ago (currently 259)... We may agree that AMD is currently WAY OFF with the pricing of its latest cards, and no one should consider buying these, until they reach ca. 25%-30% lower street prices (curr. 220EUR/179EUR for 8 or 4 GB versions). Ok, the Monster Hunter World Bundle would be worth a lot to someone who likes those (2 games) and still did not bought them. But the Raise the Game Bundle (Borderlands 3 or GR Breakpoint) could be just as much attractive - and expires tomorrow, but still available at "selected retailers" for RX580/590/5700... (+3 Month of Xbox game pass i wouldn't consider valuable) So if they MSRP the 5600XT 289-299$ AND bundle it with a popular title worth at least 50-60$ that may be interesting to some. But i bet that they release the RX5600 (cut down to 1920 shader) at the same time or shortly after (259-279$??). Than drop the price of 5500XT below 200 (still too much for the performance - compared to competition like Polaris/GTX16xx).

@asturur The Sapphire Pulse 5700 is 388€ here. I doubt the price drops before the 6000 are announced. No, RX5500XT is small Navi, the one used in laptops. The best chips go to Apple, we got the worse ones for desktop.

Just found an RX Vega 56 for 219.90EUR - in stock (-25EUR with 0% credit option). So it is actually cheaper than RX5500XT in the same german store! But it does not come with free games... 🙂 Crazy or what? And XFX RX5700 is 319EUR there...

I see the HW prices in Portugal are really high compared to central Europe... Have you tried to order from other countries? Maybe amazon.es or UK could be an option. I've seen Warehouse deals in "very good" condition there: RX570 - 96EUR, RX580 - 138EUR, RX5700 - 342EUR. But i don't know the shippig costs to your country. Amazon.com would probably be no option as the tax/customs duty would be very high (and returning rather complicated). Or plan a short trip/vacation to Germany/Austria maybe for your next bigger upgrade, and connect some relaxing days with a bit of useful shopping? 😉

@RogeRR That's an option, but what if I need to RMA it? I'll have to pay for shipping and wait for resolution (that could take weeks). Buying at a shop guarantees me I can solve an issue cheap and easy. I never left Portugal, I have no idea how to travel. But thank you very much for the ideas! PS: The RX500 price was burned because of mining. Here shops prefer to scrap inventory because the insurance will pay for the acquisition cost. So price will hold firmly for months until new stock with lower prices come in. I've heard they had 130 units of my GPU in warehouse, that's why I bought it so "cheap" (159€).

That memory configuration is going to cripple this card.
