Absolutely, they should complain about this. The solution of pirating, as argued by some, is not the route to go.
It is, and it will be.

Sounds like a money grabbing jackass to me. How can a nearly $5k piece of software be great value?
It's priced at such a level because it is a software suite for professional designers, artists, etc. Those are very lucrative professions if you are any good and if you look at the software market, software suites aimed at professionals are rarely ever cheap, especially ones as complicated and powerful as Adobe's Creative Suite. My father spent the last 40 years as a graphic designer and when making the transition to computers in the late 80's, many programs that were industry standard also were priced in a similar fashion. Quarkexpress 6 for example cost $1100 back in 2003. IMO the software suites of today like Adobe CS are a much better value than how things were 10 or more years ago. Especially for businesses who bought copies in the past and pay the much more agreeable price for upgrades. Nowdays adobe is looking into a $49/month subscription to the entire creative suite which includes free updates and upgrades to future versions. Not bad if you don't have the big chunk of cash to make the initial purchase, and even better since you don't need to throw down a bunch more for new features.

So then merely reading a book, or watching a movie generates no profit for you so you're justified in stealing it. Got it. Theft is theft. There are free programs out there.
No, because as a consumer I pay money for those products intended for me. I buy movie tickets or buy movies when they come out on Blu-Ray if I want to see them. I buy novels or comic books if I want to read them. I buy video games if I want to play them. Also the price versus the use I get out of games, movies, comics, etc. is very reasonable. $2,500 for imaging software that I use once in a while for fun? Adobe tailors their pricing model and marketing practices to the corporate environment, not so much consumer. I don't feel it's right to pay corporate pricing to use a piece of software in such a casual manner as I use Adobe programs. Also I personally think downloading a copy of software from Adobe is VERY different than stealing a physical product off of a shelf that costs money/materials to produce.
data/avatar/default/avatar26.webp
In neither one of my posts did I say that other countries should have to pay more for software.
so if your business needs it how else do you expect people to get it? also after watching that CEO spout nonsense I am reminded why I don't care if people pirate major corporations works.

There are free alternatives to Adobe products, such as gimp. If you're a casual user, then you can download these alternatives. You have no right nor claim nor justification for piracy. The reasons you've made up are not sufficient to give anyone reason to believe you deserve access to a program you haven't purchased.

No more talk advocating software piracy or otherwise. Infractions for those that continue.

And just when I didn't think Adobe could get any more pathetic.... Adobe CEO: "We think ripping off Australian's is the best offering for customers." Interviewer: How do you justify the $1400 difference between the US and Australian prices?" Adobe CEO: "We think it's a great value..." Am I the only one that heard that? Why is Adobe still in business? Think it's time for the Australian Gov't to step in and demand (force) fair prices....

I don't know, maybe one of the thousands of other competing products that sell for much cheaper? Maybe finding a business that doesn't require software with such a huge price of entry? Maybe a business such as building image editing software and selling it at a vastly lower price? And yeah the CEO is a dick, don't make pirating software justifiable, just make hims a dick. Honestly I don't care if people pirate, but when someone says "oh why even bother to go through normal channels of bringing the price down, just pirate it" I begin to feel like the pirates are just as greedy as the dick CEO.

Wait till you see the Hardware side of things here in Australia. Company says if consumers are willing to pay those prices then its going to be at those prices.

So they get the same treatment Canada gets on everything else including food? Interesting.

If you're only using it for "fun" then you've just eliminated your reason for stealing a professional product. As I and others pointed out, there are free options out there for the casual user like you. I'm not defending their unfair pricing policies. Merely saying the solution isn't theft.

This is totally BS.......is like when they justify XXX game do not come out in PC bc the PC´s version will be pirated and we all know the console´s version is out in the wild like 1 or 2 weeks before the release day (FE: Crysis 3) and you dont even have to crack it, just download it and burn in.
