Our 4K cards can't do 4K? 2080Ti all over again. Jokes aside, I assume DLSS will be implemented at some point alleviating fps problem?

I doubt DLSS will be added as this is AMD sponsored title, like AC Valhalla which never got DLSS, it's funny 3090 is not enough for 4K, RT and 60 fps, but it's also the same for Cyberpunk, Control etc, at least there is DLSS which helps especially in 4K..

Resident evil village was AMD sponsored title and it had RT and it runs like dream 100+ fps with rtx 3080 @4k. Its pretty bad that this AMD sponsored game looks more like those nvidia ones.

When i see the tech i'm working with thanks to Epic Games on my indie game, i'm a bit underwhelmed by the character quality of the Far Cry franchise, had the same feeling with latest AC game. They need to step it up ! Or maybe it's a matter of Art Direction which i don't like, feels a bit cartoony, wish they went all-in on realistic looking. Here, did this in 35seconds, inspired by the avatar of someone in this thread:

When the time come, we need 50 series to do 100fps+ to play a title of game. I think the developer need to wake up the mind that will the title hit million of million players before doing this kind of waste idea.

AMD invested heavily in this title to push FSR. Cant fault them for it because Nvidia does it with DLSS. Thing is, FSR is something you dont wanna turn on. DLSS yes please.

Difference is DLSS the top dog of upscaling vs FSR the bottom of the barrel, in between are TAA U and Checkerboarding, which Nvidia didn't forbid their sponsored game to implement (Metro Exodus EE, Watch Dogs Legion, etc...). So AMD forcing devs to use only the bottom of the barrel upscaling tech is very low of them.

I'd have no issue with this if the game looked stunning, but everything i've seen so far it looks decidedly average.

That goes for their entire games - acv looks so cartooney throughout, and im not a fan of it either. I much prefered ac unity, which aimed for a realistic look, and actually still look better than ac valhalla, despite being from 2014. Though the age of the game does show in character models. Im thinking if it may be due to limitations in their engine, and they give the games this cartooney look to compensate for the limitations in tech ? If that is the case (which i find the most plausible explaination) then they need to drop that ancient engine, and either license a more modern one, or build a new one.

I agree, AC: Unity is stunning, so goes for AC: Syndicate. I guess it is up to the art director, which direction they go.
