Well, I for one like the setting, though it would have been even better in a western 1800s timeline. If I'd ever get to visit the US I'd really love to go in Montana and Wyoming!

It's probably not another white-guy-in-a-far-off-land-shooting-brown-people-but-somehow-he's-a-hero type game. Being in the U.S. by nature means there might be a chance at an interesting plot.

The plot of the game is driving Native Americans off reservations in Montana.

^ I was about to say the exact same thing. I played Far Cry 4 and was very bored by the lack of a realistic plot. It kinda felt like I was just running all over the place shooting people because of this dude's mom's ashes. I won't be partaking unless there is an actual plot this time.

I loled pretty hard at this. 🙂 Actually, it sounds like it's johnny-white-guy vs. a religious cult a'la The Branch Davidians based on the leaks over the last two days, but that assumes they aren't fake.

Personally, I don't really care about the plot in these games. They're just a progression treadmill for me, like Diablo 3. I just like all the open world stuff - hunting, unlocking weapons, skills, taking over the map, having an excuse to sneak around with a bow and shoot guys in the head, etc. The story missions are always the biggest drag on Far Cry games for me. In a way that makes the games better, because it gives me a good reason to space them out and do as much of the side stuff in between story missions as I can.

Lol yeah, I haven't been following the game - the cult thing sounds like it could be cool though if they add some degree of mysticism woven throughout. I actually like the idea of using Montana too.. although it's going to be quite a design challenge to make it feel as open/wide as Montana while keeping it interesting.

I just hope the second act ends with a scene where you're working with a faction across the border in Idaho, some key NPC dies, and their last words are "I would like to have seen Montana..."

I want Boyd Crowder to be the lead bad guy, specifically in his militant man revival preacher days, not his later lost his religion and started selling drugs days.

Fun fact, this was actually originally going to be the sequel to Redneck Rampage.
