Doesn't Steam just open Uplay? so it would be Uplay that downloads it right?

Oh neat, so now all those people who no longer have the game can now enjoy it.
least they still patching it i guess. 8 patches though, thats something i only expect to see from games like ARMA, eastern Europe titles.

have you guys tried the maxbufferframes fix?
"My Documents," open up your "My Games" folder and find the Far Cry 4 folder. In there, you'll find your profile.xml file. change GPUMaxBufferedFrames="0" to GPUMaxBufferedFrames="1".
i Use a Nvidia 670 before implementing this manual fix i was experiencing weird FPS drops at random times. after this fix my gameplay is perfect & Smooth.

Funny, people running Windows and complaining about 8 game patches being too many...

At 1080p the game runs at an amazingly smooth 60fps, If I don't try and run settings higher than I should. Medium textures give me no problems at all. As for the rest of the settings, the lowest setting I use is HIGH and I am using the ingame NVidia options except for SMAA and fur is set to ON. If I run High textures I get a hitch once in awhile moving into new areas with different textures but I only have 2gb of Vram. Even though, I may end up using High textures, the small hitch is very small which to me is a small price to pay. I use an SSD and plenty of ram so I think that makes big difference with stutter and swapping. Some people have that attitude "My card has 3 gb of mem and its powerful, I should be able to run FC4 "or any game" at 1440 and maxed settings. wait its stuttering! But I'm running it on a big HDD and I have 4gb of system mem. The game is using more Vram than my card can handle, the game must be a piece of crap! My card is new and its awesome! Stuttering, that can't be, wtf!" Sorry but it can be, as you can see for yourself. 1080p will use 3GB or more of Vram, you will stutter if you don't lower something. Stop trying to use settings that are too high. I know there are some real issues for people but a lot of those issues would be gone if people would suck it up and lower a setting or two. Just because they have all the new and best hardware available doesn't mean they can crank up all the settings to ultra at any resolution they feel like. All I did was set everything to low and then start bumping settings up one by one until one of them dropped my FPS below 60fps. If I had a 980 I would still do the same thing. I have no stutter, no lag and it runs perfect. I wish all games could look this good while keeping 60fps on my system.

(Can't find the official FC4 thread?)
Reinstalled this yesterday, previously it ran fine for me with gameworks stuff disabled, this time around, no matter what I enable or disable, I'm getting huge square shadows around my character that move with me, and I can not get vSync to enable, I've tried from NVCP, from in game, using both available vSync options in the settings, nadda
I assume some patch has been released since I last played it that's done this, anyone know how to fix those two issues?
Pretty sure the shadows are an AA or AO setting but nothing seems to sort it, and no vSync is ruining it, it's weird because it is trying to run at 60fps but I'm still getting tearing badly
Running a single display now

I think you have to search for Kyrat or Pagan or something like that as Far is too short and Cry is also too short and probably too common too and I believe the thread title was "Far Cry 4" and not "FarCry 4" thus it's easily missed in searches. 🙂

Heh, found it straight away with Pagan, cheers 🙂

As for the latest patch that's 1.10.0 if I remember correctly though it might be 1.11.0, it's unsure exactly what they did alter in these last patches besides compatibility with the "Valley of the Yeti" DLC episode but several mods were rendered incompatible and when checked the patches had pretty large changes to several things in the normal game too such as re-adjusting and placing new spawn points for dynamic events and well I've forgotten most else but it was more than just DLC compatibility though a full changelog was never posted.
Those glitches are probably driver related though it is of course possible one of the later updates also might have caused some code problems and Ubisoft never fixed it as no further patches were released, Google might provide better answers if other users have experienced the same type of problems, hopefully there's a easy fix too in that case. 🙂
