Apparently Nvidia's godrays are having a significant effect on performance despite no visual difference.

I'm kinda curious to see if the tessellation bit these guys are talking about is true. Would it be possible to retest the Fury X with the manual tessellation slider set lower?
Nvidia needs to get it's **** together. Even if it did make a visual difference, God Rays shouldn't effect performance by 30%..

Undying
God Rays did the same thing to FC4, its an insane resource hog. All those cards benchmarked will improve performance by quite a bit with the option lowered/disabled.
Besides all this, AMD need new drivers. Hopefuly soon...

Looks like AMD are having a hard time competing with Nvidia's GPUs.

Does SLI work? Crossfire?

Outdated graphics. Sad.

outdated graphics or not - I'm having a blast and it's nice to see my i5-2500K and GTX 770 4Gb easily copes with it - to be fair Fallout 3 also had underwhelming graphics (for the time it was released) - there'll be plenty of graphics mods soon enough to add eye candy
enjoying the game

Thanks for the review, Hilbert.
I've seen some benchmarks on pclab and even 980Ti was struggling to achieve 60fps score @ FullHD, in some scenes, which was a bit surprising. Your results appear to be significantly higher.
Also, it appears that that i3 + 750Ti is more than enough not to drop <30fps on high with only some settings dropped to medium. With 30fps lock it appears to be really ok for such game. For some weird reason, I've seen it drop <30fps on consoles o_0

Great review as always boss!
Don't have the game yet but my 980Ti@1500/7800 is eagerly waiting for it! ๐

Thanks Hilbert! ๐
Ofc graphic is outdated, but the gameplay is there.
Ofc Amd & Nvidia old cards have issues and performance loss, because of GameWorks:

On Low this setting is ok.

Just gotta wait for the sodding thing to download now. 5.2 GB off the DVD then another 18.8 GB over a 2 Mb/s connection...
Thanks for the review, boss.

Nice review man! I should be able to get stable 60 with Godray low or off, since many say it doesnt really make much different!
4 more hours until i get home tho!!!!

So outdated graphics, but over the top graphics requirements.
That really doesn't make much sense, but that's Gameworks for you.
In any case at least there seems to be decent gameplay.

For those who keep talking about the bad graphics in the game, I have one question for you.
Are you just looking at screenshots or are you basing this off of what you're seeing real time in game?
The game looks pretty amazing in motion in gameplay, and uses environment effects very well. The game to me looks "realistic." Not some shiny, over specular mapping crap that you see in a number of games today or worse, an abundance of motion blur.

Jesus christ my gtx 770 is almost tied with a R9 290x in this game!
