I've said it before. Now we just need Boris to hurry up with his ENB so we can get nice water, detailed shadows, aa, af.. Some sweet shaders, sharp SSAO, SubSurface Scattering, and maybe some parallax, and so on. Hopefully this game doesn't need as much work as Skyrim did. It took a few years to fix most of its visuals, memory issues and stability.
People have already uploaded ENB files and Reshades that also add better AO http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/?

I was hoping for more Gameworks features as I loved what they did for Far Cry 4. Also, the same Gamework Godrays is used across ALL 3 platforms; PC/PS4/X1.
I would love to see them add Gameworks Fur so 'meat can look more realistic.

My system can handle full Ultra @ 1080p Vsync'd with a solid 60fps.
I could turn down Godrays and shadows if i wanted but @1080 there's no need too.
I like using vsync at the moment because my system runs a bit cooler and that means it's quieter also.
With vsync off my 980 G1 will head towards 70C in this game but with vsync on it hovers around 58C which equates to about 20% less fan(s) noise.
Haven't played that much yet since i was in the character editor for like 3 hours ๐
Small problem with the game for me, 1. i couldn't see any mouse pointer ingame because i had a controller plugged in, trying to turn off controller ingame would fail also.
2. I can't get the game to play in proper full screen mode, well i can but my pointer still will jump to my second screen, so basically i can't lock the mouse to my main screen.
This is a problem if you use 3rd person view while having mouse sensitivity on very high. Every time i look right really fast then my mouse flies off screen.
I might be able to fix this in the ini's or trying different things though.( i also got this issue in other games like GTA5 so might just be a win10/nvidia problem, usually a quick Alt-Tab or Alt+Enter will fix it)
BTW i was not impressed with FO4 at first and i'm not talking about the dated gfx.
The game feels like a polished FO3 with mods ๐ Well in the start anyway. You get that feeling of been there, done that. Do i really want to do it all again. Hell yea i do. The more you get into the game the more you realise how many differences there actually are.

curious
I was extremely curious HOW this game would work on console counterparts. considering they're ALL amd products trying to run gameworks.
I was goin to buy this game at launch till I found out it was gameworks too. but im sporting an APU. most games I can handle well but its already off to a bad start.
on another topic. I don't wanna start a war here either but there seems to be a lot of favoritism towards NVidia on this site, whats up with that? I know very well that both products are great. just different.

Please don't say there's favouritism towards NVidia here when you yourself sport an Ati badge.
Also, you don't have to use Gameworks, but, this game was built with it in-mind to help with the lighting.
Finally, why wouldn't you like Nvidia when looking at the benchmarks? GTX970/980/980ti put in a great showing.

Again, lets not start that here.

Overall pretty good perforamances, graphics looks really refreshing.
Sure it isn't a brand new engine, sadly but we have to keep in mind it's an open world game so graphics can't be just as good as a crysis 3 for instance ๐, of course GTA V probably have better graphics for an open world.. not sure but that wouldn't surprise me, perhaps it's not as big as Fallout 4 map too.

Has anyone tested with SLI or Crossfire? Preferably at higher resolutions too?

Well, I got off work a few hours ago and thanks to my 50Mb cable I'm up and running now.. Yay!!! Fallout 4! Damn!
Game runs buttery smooth at 28x16 at a solid 60FPS maxed out(Shadows,GodRays High, TAA) with NVCP settings at Quality. 4K runs@55FPS w/o AA but have bad stuttering unfortunately.
Can probably crank up the res a notch from 28x16 but its running fine at that res. Btw the card is running 1500/7900. I think the OC its not needed tho. I see 60-70% usage iirc.
VRam usage at 4K if I remember correctly was about 3300MB and thats without any AA. At 28x16 with the settings mentioned above I think its at 2000-2300MB.
So far all good and I'm really liking the game.

Is there any Z-fighting?

Unfortunately your testing missed the real issue with Fallout 4 performance which is the CPU. Others have reported that the game is very demanding of high cores/threads and my i5-6600 struggles with this game. It turns out that the recommended i7-4790 is not an exaggeration. Your tests using the i7-5960x would never have detected the problem. Only a few have i7's so this is a bad idea by Bethesda.
