Good heavens, will it ever stop? In this modern age, this is insane.
Every telemarketer wet dream come true, a database with real phone numbers. Or more nefarious purposes.

Ohhh,really,again?
What about this?
"Websites that use a Facebook “Like” button may soon be facing some heat. Even though site owners have no control over how the widgets work,
the European Union’s highest court ruled them liable for transmitting users' browsing data without permission."

The movie about cambridge analitica, on netflix, is nice and a suggested view. Is a documentary film, so not an exciting story telling.

This is hardly an issue worth complaining about at this point. Pretty much every single person who still uses Facebook is well aware of data collection, compromises in privacy, and/or leaked customer information, yet willfully uses it anyway. Frankly, it's hypocritical if anyone is now bothered by something like this. If you don't like it, stop using it. So as far as I'm concerned, this is "just another day in the life of Facebook".

In other news just as shocking, water is wet.

Funny thing: Facebook actively asks for more regulation. Do they want to pay higher fines or what?
As for the matter at hand, hardly surprised.

I deleted my FB account a long time ago, and my twitter, and my wassup logs and I think that is about it.
BTW if you delete you facebook, but go back to 'check' the account, it automatically enables it and you have to request deletion all over again.

Facebook: We take your privacy. Seriously.
Everyone: Huh, wasn't: We take your privacy seriously?
Facebook : Oh, sweet summer children!

Not to get too political, but it's worth noting that all politicians seem to be using these questionable data harvesting practices. I believe it was ultimately Cambridge-Analytica's work with Ted Cruz's campaign that forced them to close shop (correct me if I'm wrong on that), despite their work with the Trump campaign likely being more consequential. The Clinton Campaign and DNC worked with FusionGPS which does similar data harvesting and analysis as Cambridge-Analytica and Obama's campaign had an app that harvested facebook data (supposedly with user consent, but I highly doubt they spelled it out as data harvesting for political gain and basically no one reads the ToS anyway). The takeaway is this is not a partisan issue, it's an issue of politicians doing anything and everything to get ahead and social media companies not giving a rat's ass about safeguarding our data. We're the product on these sites and the "service" they provide is a grift to get us in the door.

I think I've logged in twice in the past 6 years. Each time was a reminder to why I don't use social media at all. This news just reinforces my disdain for Facebook.
