Great performance all across the board.

This was a neat thing to read. But am I assuming correctly that Vsync is enabled by default in the game title and can't disable it in game config? It just stood out to me you had to disable Vsync by configuring an ini file

I had rewritten that bit, no you just configure it in-game. No worries.

1080Ti still rocking

Sound of the car in that video is terrible. Maybe that's what real F1 cars sound like these days. Close your eyes and it sounds like some pizza courier riding a Honda 50 motorcycle. F1 sound is a pale shadow of its former glory. I got the Ferrari F2004 V10 in the "Assetto Corsa - Ferrari Pack" DLC and the sound is absolutely glorious - the way F1 used to sound.

atrocious performance on AMD cards They just not talking to developers.

Ah man, I need to upgrade my GTX 1050 Ti already...!

I can't even remember buying my 1080 Ti, it has been so long. I still feel very little reason to upgrade because I run a high FPS 1440P monitor, versus 4K. People here give Nvidia a lot of crap but IMO, Nvidia has put out a lot of long-lasting performance parts and it isn't fair to just ignore that fact (recent history: 680, 780 and 1080 Tis). AMD doesn't have many GPUs that remain high-performance for several years.

2060s and 2070s are not faster than 5700 and 5700xt if not they are tad slower. Considering amd cards are cheaper how can you call that atrocious?

Actually the 2070s is faster than the 5700xt in the majority of games. However if you only look at games like BF 5 where the 5700xt is clearly faster, and not bother to look at anything else, I can see how you come to that conclusion. https://www.guru3d.com/articles-pages/amd-radeon-rx-5700-and-5700-xt-review,13.html https://www.techpowerup.com/review/amd-radeon-rx-5700-xt/28.html https://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/amd-radeon-rx_5700-rx_5700_xt,6216-2.html

is AMD going to blame the use of Nvidia features again? well, with robert hallock involved, probably.

5700xt is ahead of 2070super in metro and tomb raider both dx12 games in that guru3d review. Nvidia is faster in every dx11 title.

Not in tomb raider, look again.

Until you turn RTX off, then the 2070 super spanks the 5700XT, which the guru3d exactly demonstrates

1080 non-Ti still rocking at slightly lower resolution 2018-2019-generation GPUs are so lame... Can't wait to get past that with this year's releases !

Thats a sign of stagnation. People used to say the same thing about Intel because a 7700K wasnt all that much better than a 2500K. The fact my 2500K lasted like 8 years before AMD brought real competition is not a good thing. And the performance difference between Zen3 and Zen1 (3 years) will likely be greater than Sandy Bridge and Kaby Lake, even without considering the core increases. No one was saying "my Pentium 4 2.4GHz from 2003 is still holding up well" in 2011 when the I5 2500K released. That is how bad the stagnation was with CPUs until recently, which is almost just as bad with video cards today. Hopefully nvidia gives us a real upgrade this year but they have no reason to. GPUs are flying off the shelves as is, I've yet to see a card on sale below msrp and many are above msrp. Nvidias only competition are the new consoles this year.

Apart the rx480 and rx580? They have been strong for long.

Still the 2070 super is starting at 560 on amazon and the 5700xt is starting at 399. You can compare 2 cards if there is a 40% difference in price. ( 5700XT + 40% price = 2070 super )

you buy a 2070 super, you don't get black screens and broken video decoding.

I just checked on Amazon UK, there you can get a Red Dragon, one of the best 5700XTs, for £390, a Gaming X 2070 Super is £520. They are a different price tier. Under 400 quid for such a great card is good value.
