I logged into get GTA V and saw Control was on sale. I wasn't going to bite, until I saw I also had a $10 coupon I could use, and buying the game gave me another $10 coupon I could use to buy the season pass. So I got the game with the pass for $30, so I jumped on it.

Sounds like it's time for an upgrade. EGS launches just fine here. Maybe you want to move to a M.2 drive instead of just an SSD. Makes a difference that is for sure.

So? No literally so what? You can pay for games via any number of other methods so never have to give real details and you have any number of alternative login methods, it is literally possible to use and buy products without ever handing over ANY details directly to EGS.

Yea as much as I love Steam, Epic has been pretty awesome on deals lately. Competition is a good thing.

I think the reason people like Steam is simply familiarity and nostalgia. They both suck horribly IMO. Steam didn't change in over a decade until the Epic Turd Store rolled in and even now with all the changes they've made it's barely any different and customer support is still next to non-existent.
Even the updated Steam UI is annoying; seemingly arbitrarily limited with no logical reasoning. What to shut off stupid random messages at the top that you don't give a shit about? Too bad, you can't. Want to have complete control of what is where on the UI? NEVER!

I still have yet to install the client, at this point I just Steam and GoG client to keep track of all my game over all the damn "platforms" the keep raising

There is a three year old article about how good Steam has been for the gaming industry. Go forth and support Steam in all forms and manor. We do this because we care about how good Steam has been for us. Kill off all those other wannabes. Epic, Origin, Battlenet, and the like. They are all inferior to the all mighty good Steam platform.
Wake up from the malaise and smell what you Steam fans are shoveling. EGS is no different. They are just the new kids on the block.

Yeah, I kind of let go of those $10 discount coupons they were handing out to me. Just expired, that's how often I shop there. They kindly give me new ones again, so I can let them expire too.

Competition is good and i i support epic store too ! What i was pointing is that he already made enough money to last him few lifetimes in extreme luxury . :P i honestly have no more love for steam than any other store i buy from.

More power to them. hopefully Epic and the EGS can fix their issues with their launcher (because I heard it sucks). Even though some of the freebies are enticing i'd rather not show Epic the satisfaction of creating an account with them because of the monopolistic tactics of having PC platform exclusives because it is anti-consumer and it shows no competition in the slightest.

I believe as far as PC games go they should be available on all platforms/launchers that are out there with out that exclusive BS. Let the consumer choose from their preferred store Epic stops this from happening by having PC exclusives. Tim Sweeney doesn't care about customers' choice by having this.

What ever floats your boat. Believe what you want. Steam did not follow that practice in the beginning so why should Epic. What made Steam worse was that there was no reason for them to do it the way they did because there was not another service like it at the time. So really you are just hurting yourself in the long run.

Hurting myself in the long run? I disagree because between Steam and GOG I have enough games to play I really don't need Epic and their anti-consumer practices.

You have stated it yourself. You do not want competition. Just need Steam and GOG. GOG are the good guys. No complaints there. Steam laugh out loud. Give the article a read and see what you are blindly supporting. I personally do not care who supplies the game. It is whoever can provide the best deal. Steam only gets my money if that is the only place I can get the game, like Destiny 2. Epic has given out free games like no other. Steam still makes one pay. Their service needs to run even in offline mode. Epic is a true storefront only. All games can be run without even being logged into their service.
