Congrats on doing this but honestly GTA V is so old why cant people run this game yet at 60 fps ? I mean the game doesnt look that different with MSAA vs none just lower settings and get native results. PC gaming doesnt need DLSS or AMD version is BS honestly. We are the master race we only need to run max settings in native DLSS is for console peasants

lol look at the video - it looks like a blurry mess.... The only way its going to "kill" DLSS is if more poor people will convince themselves its actually working...
Is comparing the native scaler with the new HACKED replaced from FSR of another game. If you go to the end of the video using Quality mode, the hacked FSR looks better than the native upscaler. Do not forget his attempt is made by hacking a code of a game, taking the hacked shaders of another game and adding them to a third game (GTA5). Nothing was done natively with source code at source code. And still looks better than the original upscaler!!!!!! The blurry image is from the native upscaler, the sharper the hacked FSR (mouse over picture) https://screenshotcomparison.com/comparison/15394/picture:0 https://www.reddit.com/r/Amd/comments/ob89a5/i_added_fidelityfx_super_resolution_to_grand/

To all you fools complaining of FSR quality being blurry while riding your DLSS train. Its new tech that is coming out drivers WILL improve it. You do not have to get all butt hurt cause you spent all this money for Ray Tracing and DLSS to now have a similar version come out for free. The best part is you can complain all you want and you never have to enable the feature if you choose not to. Just like no one really uses Ray Tracing in real world multiplayer titles because the performance hit is just trash. AMD at least is helping to utilize current hardware since its to difficult to get a GPU these days for a reasonable price. They released it for all hardware and not just locked it to AMD like Nvidia did with their tech. What have YOU done to help besides complain?
You know whats the problem? That one of the reason spent thousands for their RTX20/30 cards was DLSS which took almost 3 years later started picking up and AMD gave it a knockout punch.

I bought my card for ~$700 comes with both RT & DLSS and now FSR is an option for me too. Seems like a better deal lol You're also delusional if you think FSR gave DLSS a knockout punch. FSR is a great spatial upscalar - but it doesn't even come close to DLSS in quality. Maybe at some point AMD will improve upon it but as it stands it's about as useless to me as DLSS 1.0 was when it launched.

Heavily reliant on contrast to increase sharpness. Detail is crushed out. Depth is absolutely killed. I dont think ultra quality looks better than native at all. https://screenshotcomparison.com/comparison/15428/picture:0
Considering amd hasn't even released the source code yet for fsr, It doesn't surprise me that this mod is not tuned properly, its almost certainly as-is from whatever game they extracted it from. the rcas pass doesn't have to be that aggressive.

He's not talking about the shader cores. Ever heard of shading? Reality is that FSR is so stupid, that when devs over at reshade.me take a look at its code, they'll implement it as a shader, which you can add to every damn game that supports reshade which is almost every dx9/10/11 game.
They may be able to implement something that comes close but they won't be able to implement the full FSR into reshade. FSR is done on the last rendered frame before UI/post process effects are added to the frame and then pushed to the screen. This is preserve UI clarity and keep that running at native resolution. This is why FSR requires per game support from the developers to implement it, it's not just a simple case of drag and drop or toggle a switch on/off. It needs to be implemented into the game engines render pipeline. https://i.pcmag.com/imagery/articles/07f5KjMbFQdbN5KbRkBApe4-6.png

Not being a fanboy of any company, as i want AMD to do amazing. But, here's the simple facts, for myself and i'm certain many people. Given the quality that DLSS shows and the quality that FSR shows, regardless if either one is better for performance over the other: There's never a situation where i'd use FSR, but there are definitely situations where i'd use DLSS.

Some people need to clean they brain, and finally understand that FSR is shader method. When Nvidia DLSS has AI calculations and dedicated seperate cores just for that. It's like comparing little car that does 60KM/s max for some to new super sport fast 400KM/s Ferrari with Nitro Boost and Atomic Rocket Fuel
There is no AI calculations in nVidia DLSS. You absolutely don't know what you talk about. There is hardly even any AI in DLSS version 2.0 (there was more in version 1.0, but it was totally impractical and actually didn't gave great results). Basically only upscaler left in DLSS with very miniscule use of AI to determine what to upscale. DLSS 2.0 is a liitle improved version of TAA upsampling from UE5. Nothing more. No magical AI working for you to upscale image. Here you have presentetion of DLSS 2.0 form nVidia engineer on GTC 2020. [youtube=tMtMneugt0A] It's for professionals so no nVidia marketing bullshit allowed. Try to find where he speaks about AI in this presentation when he speaks about version 2.0. Though I'm not sure you would even understand what he speaks about (because of nonsense you wrote above). And according to people who actually had the chance to review FSR (Hardware Unbox, Gamer Nexus, LTT or Level Tech 1 and many others) it's as good or almost as good as DLSS in quality. So that little car is somehow as good as your Ferrari according to them. Go figure. It's really easy to recognize who is butthurt because of his precious RTX. People again were lied by nVidia, they bought their lies, and now they will never admit they were used and basically robbed with prices nVidia demanded for their 'sophisticated' tech. It's like Stockholm syndrome for them.

Did you bother listening to the presentation? Deep Learning, neural networks and inferencing are all terms related to AI computing. The image reconstruction is an AI based algorithm. Also anyone that actually thinks FSR looks as good as DLSS are also the ones that thought a sharpening filter looks "as good".

Seems to me you have no idea what you're talking about but like to make big statements that make it sound like you do while making crazy accusations such as "DLSS 2.0 is a liitle improved version of TAA upsampling from UE5."

Lol this is embarrassing.. they bring up AI 22 times in that video.

FSR is nothing but blur, DLSS is light years ahead of it and actually improves upon native resolution and manages to look better in normal and quality 4K presets. While FSR is only OK in 4K Quality presets and thats it, all the otehr presets look like blur and if you dare to upscale to 1440p or 1080p its blur and more blur. 1080p is outright usless and the reviewers said "better uses 720p" The 1440p in quality is a meh While DLSS works for every resolution and manages to look better.

It does not matter if they implement FSR or some rendition of it because the reality is that amd did nothing that has not been done before. Edge detection blur has always existed, sharpening has always existed, edge based contrast has always existed. Just because amd decided to do those three things that in that order, and then slap an "FSR" tag on it to call it a DLSS competitor doesn't make it anything more than it already is, which is nothing than a damn layer on top of everything. But hey at least its behind the chromatic aberration and whatever post-fx games decide to slap on there. Hell I bet nvidia's stupid freestyle can get that exact result if someone tries to play around with it.

Do old games even need this tech is the question i'd be asking. These methods are meant to improve frame rates and if you need to improve fps in older games then get a better GFX card if you can of course. DLSS is a waste for me as i am able to max out most games to 240fps/240hz. I like to lock my fps down to 240 as without it my system starts pumping out 3000+ frames a second on some titles, even Doom Eternal does it between levels or in the menus and this make my system ramp up the fans like crazy. So that's why i like to lock it down as my PC sounds a lot happier and is sort of balanced noise wise. Still i'd like to see this tech improved over time so all those with medium systems get some extra time before they just have to upgrade.

It is useful even for old games, since integrated graphics are still pretty trash, the majority of pcs lack discrete graphics (laptops)

Unlike a left click on Unity or UE? None of them work without engine integration anyway.

im just repeating what I heard over and over. I'm getting plenty of likes for this btw.unlike the other comments where I actually spared some time to think about it realistically.

would a techtuber say what you want to hear for likes ? highly unlikely, as opposed to sites like g3d,tpu,computerbase,pcgh,ppc who do that all the time. also, why "actually" ? did the rest just pretend to have reviewed it ?
