Nice. My D5s are 10 years old, I'll be looking to buy some replacements for them soon.

It's a bit disappointing to read that in at least a the last decade the only improvement is aesthetics. Sata power is on my 5+ year old ek D5, and cable sleeving isn't a massive improvement. How about a super quiet DDC pump? Lower power/heat for the D5? In fact, Where's the competition? How has there not been any genuine innovation in so long?

the patent is from Laing, not EK the market is still quite small and the products all work superbly. not a lot of cash flow for engineering innovation. just consider that the aquarium and fountain market is several orders of magnitude greater than just pumps for water cooling pc's and they all have a cost effective product. the biggest change in these designs will be for newer materials that may provide your lower power and heat but don't hold your breath as it has to be cheaper than acetal.
