Isn't the dimming feature something they used for ages now? My old S2231W had it aswell... When the area you're in gets darker, the screen gets less bright. My current CX240 has the same feature.it's called "Auto EcoView" today.

No point for him getting a 120/144 Hz Monitor at 1440P anyways, since 660 in SLI wont be able to reach 120/144 FPS at that resolution. (not at high/ultra settings atleast)
