I used one of their wifi usb cards in the past was not working at all ! I had to use just the drivers + the windows wireless menu and it worked ! So it is a common theme ?

i used a cctv camera from them, the ability to view it required internet explorer 11, or it wouldn't work. The mobile app was slow and cumbersome. Viewing was like watching blair witch.

So, do you guys have recommendations for a couple of cameras + good recording software ?

Reolink DVR/NVR/cameras is what I am currently deploying in business environment. Of course there are more high end solutions, but for the SOHO they are almost perfect. Their app is pretty darn good.

Would not be using cheap backdoored Chinese brand with no updates for my home security

Thanks for the suggestion. I will look into the Ubiquity ecosystem.

if you get the udm pro, it has protect built in, so have a utm with protect all ready, then just need the cameras.
