Demos and games tend to be overdone - puddles and tiles look more like mirrors resembling deep lakes or sth.

Anyone who says ray tracing doesnt look good or different than no ray tracing, have u seen minecraft? That thing looks so damn good, realistic and impressive.
I agree 99% of the games using ray tracing look just like some polishing simulator or barely different to non ray traced but damn when its done right it looks so good.

Can i get the phone number of their maid? Man things are so clean and so shiny. I wish i could get that result in my apartment. Man i can brush all day long with bleach and it will never be that shiny. So jealous.

Primary sense of RT in games, should be that games should look better with less work that standard faking.. for price of new of stronger HW.
Know is problem, that maybe few games look better on very high end cards..
These cards now know seems to be mode for some movies or cutscene makers that they dont need some rendering farm for do there stuff or etc least for quick preview of it.
When you are now using Raytracking you are working on standard game rendering.. plus there is additional work for few people with RT cards and its not even sure that all of them are using it, because RT flaws.
Im not developer, but if would be RT some easily enabled feature, which dont need too much work like lets say Nvidia Hairworks or something, it would be ok, otherwise its dead on arrival until someone will make some amazing RT only game, which will force people to buy cards like first Voodoo. This technology would be perfect for some arcade cabinet to show what will come to pc in few years, but this scene as technology pioneering device is death for very long time..
Now we need to wait if Nvidia will keep this technology in the cards .. and if its performance will grown fast.. because if would make sense on next Geforce xx50 / xx60 enable it, AMD and Intel would need it too.. other it will die very special feature for few games, even less used that Hairworks / Ansel and other stuff.. im not sure about PhysX if finnaly won, because Intel Havok is probably dead and i heard that at least CPU PhysX is integrated in Unity i dunno about Unreal and big inhouse engines.. but to be honest at least from Half Life 2 there was talk about great physics in games and it never happened too.
