gotta say last few drivers since .22 really ruined performance for me on gtx 1080 the last driver that introduce freesync was flat out broken but people let it slide because of that damn freesync feature....

I thought AMD drivers were a bit hefty, this Nvidia is 548MB - imagine how much pointless stuff is inside this ๐Ÿ™‚

That is why installers like NVcleanstall and NV driver slimming utilities are around.

Which driver do you find optimal? Only recently got a 1080 and would like to play around with drivers for it, thanks.

The driver wasn't broken for everyone. My performance did not suffer. For people who want DCH: https://international.download.nvidia.com/Windows/418.81/418.81-desktop-win10-64bit-international-dch-whql.exe https://international.download.nvidia.com/Windows/418.81/418.81-notebook-win10-64bit-international-dch-whql.exe EDIT: I see nvidia's driver page now has a Standard/DCH toggle.

Hello, Can anyone tell me what the difference is between DCH or "normal" drivers...? In layman's terms please if possible... Is there a (gaming) performance difference between the two?

Microsoft just came with new approach to drivers and related software. So now developers of drivers should just prepare same source files to build (and deploy) two bundles instead of one.

Is there any reason to install the DCH version instead of the standard one?

Clean and trimmed down repacked version for RTX 2xxx video cards , included graphics driver , physX , usb-c driver and NGX core Download Clean Trimmed Down version For RTX 2xxx here - http://www.mediafire.com/file/uhx96rx3omon6xj/NVIDIA_418.81.exe/file This is a performance optimized driver for 3DMarks benchmark as the optimizations for Battle Royale has carried over to all the 3DMark benchmarks also - Got a Boost of 85~100 points in Battle Royal , 3DMark Timespy and Firestrike using the same settings and tested against all the past drivers available for RTX video cards. I also got a boost in fps on the games i play FH3 , FH4 and NFSMW. Fastest drivers released so far , highly recommended for a boost in performance. Enjoy it ๐Ÿ™‚ !
