Not much to say about these drivers, as per the release notes there's a DXX and a Crossfire profile for Kingdom Come Deliverance and that's it. Entire driver appears to be mostly for supporting that game although from th e above image OpenCL was also raised from 23.20.15017.3003 to 23.20.15017.4003 so that's interesting. (And no Mantle version info? Interesting, Vega specific perhaps and no support for that card for this API?) EDIT: Though this does allow testers to try the game on 18.2.1 and see how the game performs and then test it with 18.2.2 to see how the performance claims hold up, perhaps even if there's gains for older GPU's, particularly the 400 series since they're also Polaris but also older models. 🙂 EDIT: Ah I'm blind again ha ha, or just tired perhaps. Missed that the other listings were for Fortnite and PUBG improvements too. (Testing against a older driver though, curious so perhaps 17.12.2 or 18.2.1 already had most of these benefits.)

There is always uplift in Performance in new WDDM 2.3 for any ATI uArch based on GCN (up to Polaris) or GCN_Next (Vega) ATI did not finish polishing WDDM 2.3 yet 😉 -> It takes time, but when they do, we will see some more FPS uplift across the 'table' 😛 There is difference between suporting WDDM 2.3 & Utilising it as it should be. I can't find some insights into WDDM 2.3 specs tho... I know that this one has SM/VM up to 6.1 in DX12.1 (only Vega has it in H/W) And some other Gaming related goodies (it's an solid base for next Xbox IMO, also Vega based 😉 )

That's a nice boost for the RX 580 given the fact that Polaris is almost 2 years old...

Just tested on the sims 4 with r9 380 4GB and so far driver is working fine :P

This is a idiotic remark, you should take it back. Let me rephrase it for you, so that you maybe understand where you're erring:
That's a nice boost for the RX 580 given the fact that AMD offers no replacement for Polaris, so it's currently their only product for its specific market sector (which is the largest market sector, the mainstream / aspiring enthusiast)...
I'd personally go even more years back, perhaps back to the Islands series, since transitions 290-390-480-580 can HARDLY be called upgrades. So yeah, "thank you AMD, oh, benefactors of this Earth, but - you HAVE to support your stuff, it's expected, not exceptional".

Radeon Relive/Overlays are now broken on my R9 290X (clean install after DDU).

Looks like Microsoft just made the AMD's locked down switchable graphics menu obsolete in Windows 10 Insider. https://i.imgur.com/wOVCoTg.png Works with apps that are normally locked onto the Intel GPU.and modern universal apps.

But the game has preference so if the software is broken this override doesn't help. EDIT: https://blogs.windows.com/windowsexperience/2018/02/07/announcing-windows-10-insider-preview-build-17093-pc/
New Graphics settings for Multi-GPU Systems: In this build we’re introducing a new Graphics settings page for Multi-GPU systems that allows you to manage the graphics performance preference of your apps. You may be familiar with similar graphics control panels from AMD and Nvidia, and you can continue to use those control panels. When you set an application preference in the Windows Graphics settings, that will take precedence over the other control panel settings. Find the page by going to Settings > System > Display and scrolling down to the “Advanced graphics settings” link. (In future flights, you will see this link as “Graphics settings”.) The first step is to choose an application to configure. Choosing a “Classic app” will let you browse to an application on your system. Choosing a “Universal app” will let you choose a Store application from a list. By default, the application added to the Graphics settings page is given a “System default” preference. System default means that the system decides the best GPU for your application. Picture of advanced graphics settings page in Settings. You can choose an app to select graphics performance preference – there’s a dropdown to choose between classic app and universal app. Once you’ve chosen the application, click on the application in the list and then click the “Options” button. The “Power saving” mode is a request to run the application on the most power saving GPU available. The “High performance” mode is a request to run the application on the most high performance GPU available. Generally, the power saving GPU is the integrated GPU on a system, and the high performance GPU is the discrete GPU or external GPU. If you have both a discrete GPU and an external GPU on a system, the external GPU is considered the high performance GPU. Remove an application from the list by clicking the application and clicking the “Remove” button. Removing an application is the same as choosing “System default”. Graphics specifications popup, showing the option to switch graphics preference between system default, power saving, and high performance. Applications are always allowed to have the ultimate choice of which GPU to use, so you may see additional applications that do not follow the preferences you set. In that case, look for a setting within the application itself to choose a preference.
But it's a good addition to the OS. 🙂

Do you have any problem with voltage monitoring and control in Afterburner with this release?

Very good driver so far for me. No issues. I even think my Fury got some love. I notice a slight boost in a few games. 🙂

PUBG does work A LOT better.

That's the bolded part in the quote I edited in a little afterwards.

Essentially or from my understanding of how it's worded the OS setting will override the driver setting but the software can still specify which GPU it wants to use and if it incorrectly uses the iGPU this override won't help with that problem and it's up to the developers to patch it so it properly utilizes the dedicated GPU rather than the integrated one. Which hopefully that's a pretty small list of programs but for games there's little chance of older titles being updated further so this might not help too much these though it is still good to have a OS override since if the game in question doesn't have any specifications for handling integrated GPU's at all they can be overriden to use the dedicated GPU through this setting. 🙂 An advanced option to override or force it wouldn't be bad though, perhaps something for later though Microsoft probably tries to avoid overriding program behavior if not required thus why the default behavior is to not interfere if the software itself handles the use of integrated or dedicated GPU's.

Got these from AMD myself and got blocked by driver signing. A pretty fresh install 1709 and happens on my system and my GF's (with a R9 280). I also tried clean install and DDU, no avail. Still driver signing crap and that Windows blocked it. 18.2.1 is no problem. After installing 18.2.1 again I am unable to install 18.2.2. The AMD installer keeps giving me the error that its driver isn't signed. Pffff.... EDIT: Tried again on both systems even a clean install on one, driver is blocked and reverted upon restart. 18.2.1 can be installed. Installing 18.2.2 over 2.1 does nothing. EDIT: Found it. Despite getting the Win 10 file, the drivers inside the package only contained the Win 7 versions. The files on G3D were correct. Really sloppy.

I reinstalled the driver (using DDU) but I'm still unable to change the ReLive stream server location for Twitch. The only option available is "US West: San Francisco, CA" which is 5,400 miles away. Hopefully it's only an outage or maintenance of service.

Happened to me also. But it stopped working even before 18.2.2. I think it was with 18.2.1. And I am not sure it's due to Crimson components. Looks to be permission issue. !!!!!!!!! Anyway I fixed it like this: [youtube=oGimFz_QcGk]
