After the beta I realized I'm too old for these COD/Halo type of shooters, I really wanted a Quake 3 Arena experience with a new engine but alas, they gave us another modern shooter. Pity

At least there's Brutal Doom but I wish I could have a Brutal Doom with modern graphics. Who asked for different game mechanics anyway? I sure didn't.

I'm sure one of the first things people do with Snapmap is to see how much they can use the provided assets to remake the old Doom games. If the mod options allows for single-player games, then, there's plenty of old skool Doom to play in this new engine. Single-player option for Snapmap mods please!

Expected a new map in Beta but it had it's share of fun. The speed was on my taste, almost like old Quake and UT. Hope the final product will not disappoint.

This worked for me with my Acer X34 in Open Beta: +set com_skipIntroVideo 1 +set m_smooth 0 +set r_mode -1, +set r_customwidth 3440, +set r_customheight 1440 :)

as im sure you know if youve read the DOOM general thread recently...since i posted a wall of text about it...i wholeheartedly agree with reddawn, except for the part where he bashed UT alpha :wanker:

I hear you. have you tried Unreal Tournament Pre-Alpha? I think you'll feel at home if you do.
I can only second this suggestion. With the recent Doom, it also applies to all the people who preferred Id games to UT series.

I do hope they release a "classic" mode where we can pickup all the guns like Quake3/UT. That mode is a server emptier though for the majority of this gen of players. People aren't used to having 6-8 shortcut keys for gun selection XD
Remember that weapon switching was instantaneous in Quake and UT99. On top of that you could define semi complex key bindings such as: SELECT shock riffle OR sniper rifle AND fire. I used this to setup my mouse buttons to select the best weapon of a certain type (long range, short range, explosive) and shoot 🙂

How's SLI support for this game? Or will it run in UHD on a single GPU at max settings without any problems?
I'm just guessing here but slow ass nVidia has to accept SLI support code from Bethesda and add it to their plethora of underwhelming drivers.
