On the one hand, I can't wait for reviews of the game to come out. I wonder if it will be a similar case of Overwatch 2 or if it will be more balanced. I don't particularly like the last years and games Blizzard ahs been putting out so I largely ignore their games, but I am still interested in seeing what happens with the company, since it was such an important key in the games that I played for so many years.

I have to admit it's funny to watch after 10+ years of mass exodus of big companies from steam, only to come back one by one all these years later with a tail between their legs (aimed at Ubisoft specifically, who are that spiteful, that even though they came back, they did so with minimal support and refuse to add basic stuff like achievements...). 🙄

But the real question still remains: is this good or bad in the end?...

Blizzard games have never been on Steam, so its not quite a "return" for them. And contrary to many other options, Battle.net is actually decent.

OW2 was free to play and so rather easy to review bomb.

What is decent about a launcher that is merely more than a Qt 5 Chromium interface? It's also one of the worst offenders when it comes to replacing DLSS DLLs etc...

Don't worry. I'm sure Blizzard-Activision and Steam will have better success with their dual game-client (drm), much better success than EA and Ubisoft. Zero problems for sure. /s

I'm not sure what you guys expected. The client has been in use for a decade and a half. They're not gonna shut it down for Steam.

And steam isn't a glorified browser? Oh wait

No need to pretend features like customer reviews, Steam Input, family library share, Proton etc. don't exist. And Steam doesn't force DLSS file replacement either. So... Steam has its flaws, but Battle.net Launcher is a pathetic and annoying husk. Not even Epic Games Launcher replaces DLSS DLLs...

Didn't this launch a while ago? I've not really seen much press on it to be honest. Diablo 3 and that mobile game they did were everywhere.

True, I was referencing more to "Blizzard Activision", for a while COD games were removed from Steam and were Battle.net exclusives, before coming back.

It doesn't target your precious DLSS DLLs for replacement. It ensures consistency of all the game files. Which is something Steam should really learn to do, I don't know how often I had to manually verify to fix a broken install, something that never happens with Battle.net, at least not to me, and collectively I have probably played more B.Net hours then Steam hours.
