Very good news 🙂

They always advertise this, but the reality will be with binning that most chips will max out at like 4.4ghrz and will never be able to reach 5ghrz. You'll have to be extremely lucky unless you're a reviewer, to which they'll ship out the best silicon.

Well they said a lot of good things about Haswell too. I'll believe it when I see people actually use it. RPGgamesplayer, you are the chosen one 😀

I don't know why they ever stopped using solder as the TIM, stupid move.

I will give a full review of my overclocking experiences day one.

Nice to see better overclocking potential (theoretically). My first gen i5 750 ran circles around my current CPU as for as overclocking and heat goes. Of course the i7 3770k destroys it performance wise. 🙂

The 4790K have a very nice base and turbo boost clock. Very nice for people that don't overclock. Yes i know people that is never into overclocking but they en up getting the k cpu anyway

Wow I was going to get just the 4770K but after hearing this I will now be getting the 4790K. This is what I call a refresh. Man It would be nice to see beyond 5ghz like 5.2 or so. Since we have seen like 4.7-4.8 out the amazing group of 4770k processors it would be nice to see up to a GHZ difference from that. But there is always that chance of it not happening.

Well if it does 5ghz + I'll be very tempted to give it ago. It might break my patience at waiting for Haswell-E.
