It's more about the manufacturer of the panel than the box shifter which puts it together. The thing about someone like Dell is the firmware/support and general value of the product you buy. They also have different design and implementation processes depending on the target market, so you don't get stuff you don't need or be forced into buying something because it has the one thing you want, but comes with ten things you don't.
They are not trash, but if that is your opinion I'd like to know why.

You have no clue. The companies that make panels for Dell actually make pretty good ones. I had one for 5 years and no problems.

I owned like 3 Dell monitors (I'm not commentinf on their PCs, since I never had one) and my current one is also a Dell (U2711 IPS) and I couldn't be more satisified. They also have great RMA, I once had a model replaced 3 times because of a firmware bug and it always happend very fast and without hesitations from their part free of any charge. I also know a guy that had his monitor break down like 3 weeks before waranty went out and they sent him a brand new monitor because his model was not made anymore. Great monitors and great customer support.

I've had my 24" Ultrasharp 1920x1200 for a very long time now.
It's still as good as it was brand new and i personally don't want anything higher res for now.
People knocking Dell saying they are trash, lol.
Although the Ultrasharp was expensive when i got it, it was a good investment and still has no dead pixels or ever had any problems with it.
Only problem i had was when i got it some of my games wouldn't run @1920x1200 but that's obviously not an issue any more.
Dell maybe a joke for it's over the top prices on it's computers but i can't knock it's monitors, especially the Ultrasharp series.

I will agree with you there for the pc's/laptops I saw far to many 1 month old PC's/Laptop's failing just to replace parts in those units that where failing with refurbished parts that failed that i had to replace again, with my old job, but there monitors are general good.
Anywho 5k? we barely have 4k monitors nvm the fact we dont have GPU that can handle those 4k resolutions with out cost a few limbs.
Dont get me wrong i all for higher resolutions, but i will jump for joy and on the band wagon when I can get 200$ gpu that could handle those resolutions which atm are none.
I more interested in G-sync/ Free sync then higher resolutions cause i wont game with out vsync.
That and the price is just ridiculous for that price i could make 3 killer pc and and both next gen consoles, and be happier then i would with monitor no gpu could feed with acceptable frame rates.
On side note where the hell are the OLED HDTV/Monitors been hearing about this tech for 10 years that is supposed blow LED/LCD out of the water and have CRT response times.

Nice try troll. I used to work for Dell warranty. Dell laptops are trash, alot of desktops honestly are, but their Monitors are not.
Crazy Resolution. Thats higher then 3x1080p eyfinity monitors. Just sick in an awesome way.

...are we looking at a 27 or a 55 display? ..not very clear the post:).....its good that tech. is going forward but i would like to see some movies coming in 4k first and then 5k : 🤓...and the gpu market providing us with the real power to drive 4k-5k at a resonable price......Dell is a good brand and they make nice monitors.

Indeed, Dell's warranty suck. Also Michael Dell is a cheap bastard when he was CEO. I used to fuel his Gulf Stream at the Austin Bergstrom airport, drive his car and carry his baggage, he would not even tip. His pilot was nice and tipped me 25.00 bucks for driving him to his hotel though. Michael Dell also had a codename of Sal when he was at the airport, lol.
Dell knownigly sold faulty PCs. Old news but come on....

That is because Dell prob uses LG panels like Apple, Overlord Computer and other companies that deal in high end panels.
You used to work for the Dell warranty department until they fired you all and replaced everyone with a call center in Pakistan. Merica'
