Don't worry guys! They will make the case have some glowing alien eyes and claim it's part of a proprietary secret cooling system and jack the price way up.

People still buy Alienware???
Their gaming laptops, especially portable desktop replacement ones are still great (even though more recent models' design has been a bit worse than previous ones) and Dell's warranty service has yet to be beat. As for desktops, I'd rather build my own any day. Steam Machines? Meh. I don't see a reason for them or any other "console" when I can hook up my gaming PC or laptop to my TV to play games and other things.

I had this discussion with an ex colleague who is now a key sales manager for Dell in Norway. The interesting point he made is that Dell are not overly interested in gaming machines, they just had something there "because they can" 80% of their profits come from selling servers to companies globally. notebooks etc are just a minor bonus to them. So if not interested, why are they even bothering with a steam machine unless its "because they can" remark again.

"Just in case." Just in case out of the blue it might become a big hit, completely unexpected, but at least they're part of it then and the can reap the benefits of it.
