@Hilbert Hagedoorn Have you played yet? Can we expect a performance review? I think most of us here are blown away by it.:)

I played it a bit this morning, doesn't seem as demanding as people claim it to be. At the moment my Ryzen 7 1700 and RAM are at stock speeds, and get ~60fps with my 5700XT on a 2560x1080 monitor with Ultra settings. Gameplay seemed very smooth.

I like what you're saying.

Not really. I think it's a bit meh and I actually regret wasting money on it. Mainly due to the combat system, which feels underwhelming and the (so far) scripted game play. But who knows I might end up liking it. I did spend money on it so I might as well play it for a while. RDR2 is a far better game IMO.

Not surprising. For those in the know though... to buy this on steam even with an awareness of GOG? That's just pure laziness and a shitty thing to do and I'll die on that hill.

I also played a little... In WQHD resolution raytracing on - ultra setting - on my rtx 2080Ti everything moves smooth - no noticeable frame drops. But... - the bandwidth must be so high because of the day0 /or one??? patch - 56 GB on my download... - The bad thing so far is that I had some audio bugs before patch - they are still there after the patch (Creative Soundblaster Zx audio card). - A lot of visual bugs are still there after the "big" patch: floating objects, texture clipping, objects vanishing in thin air as you move close to them - and I mean a lot...the good thing is that none of them is crashing the game...at some point if I reload the game after quitting to desktop the audio/visual bugs seems less frequent (but are there) for a period of time... - these bugs are also present with raytracing off - so it has nothing to do with raytracing... About the game: too soon to make an opinion but until now I like it...it is not a ground breaking experience like over the top hype was expecting but it is still a very solid game. The game feels like it has a soul - not an lifeless, empty piece of software - only one game made me feel the same - Mafia (the original not the remake).

IMO it indeed is groundbreaking, i've a feeling this may beat botw for my greatest game ever made spot. The art direction is off the charts and it's scope is ..well who knows at this point. Just an opinion.:)

As said - it depends. It is spot on correct for 4k ultra raytracing without dlss.

I'll just wait 5 years like I did with the Witcher 3.

Majority of people prefer convenience of everything being on one platform even if it comes at the cost of DRM and other variables slowing your game down. Sad, huh?

Sure does. Played for some minutes only in the morning, because I had to work, tried it again now. I do get to drop to ~50fps when there are many lights and stuff, but I don't really notice the drop, there's no stuttering. There are some bugs though, e.g. when leaving the antenna, I got two people standing on each other in the street, but nothing serious.

I would love to get it on GOG but for me its cheaper to buy on Steam($30) than to get it on GOG($60). That said much as I would like to get it 2020 has been sucky financially for me so I am going to be watching game play vids on youtube T_T

I think this was expected. The game has been in development for a very long time and it´s "targeted" at the PS4 and Xbox one so it couldn´t be too demanding. Of course this changes the moment you set all options to the max and try to play at 4k, but that´s the case for almost every PC game out there.

Steam itself is technically DRM, which is what I assume was meant. You may want to check out that link you included, probably a mistake but it's either iffy or not something you want shared I think. :P

In case of Cyberpunk (and many others games without DRM) you don't need Steam to be running to launch a game, you can do it by exe file and it works just fine. If developers decided to not include DRM to their game Steam is just a launcher, nothing more.
