I think there has been a bit of confusion I was talking about the 1650 non s model. Even still It would not be worth my time to upgrade to a 1650s its only a few fps in the majority of tests. The 1650 Super I have seen was £178 compared to an RX570 or an RX580 a few FPS isn't worth an almost £78 extra over comparable cards.

In canada the rx 580 costs the same as a 1650s so to me the 1650s is not worth it imo.

Just been buying one of these after a 580 died. You can get a twin fan 1660 for £179, and a twin fan 1650S is £150. Even the 1650S is a little faster then a 580 according to guru3d. Went for a 1660. The 5 series has had it's day imo. The 5500 needs to be released asap, although it's already too late for someone like me to consider (I was not surprisingly going to buy over the black friday period before all the prices go up for Christmas).

You clearly didnt see the benchmarks @Loophole35 posted above. There is no game 1650S beating 580 which can be had for same money, if you ignore the power consumption though its a better card.

Actually not a single DX11 game did the 580 beat the 1650s and they were effectively tied in DX12.

Dx12 and vulkan gives the edge to the 580. Show us the red dead 2 benchmark instead some dx11 oldie.

Other reviews do show a different story between the 1650S and 580, with some wins/losses in Dx12 and Vulkan games. I always read multiple reviews to get the complete picture.

Loophole35:

Lower power consumption, lower heat, newer tech and not needing two PCIe leads are all reasons the 1650s may be a better buy in this case.
What "newer tech" are you referring to?

That's when you start looking at reviews to see which card performs best in the majority of the games you play.

Thankfully, not every review site uses the exact same list of games. Just like not every gamer plays all the exact same games.

That's why I tend to look for tested differences in the exact same games, not just games that are different. The linked review also shows differences when the same game is tested.

Differences in settings, system configuration, software, etc.... Unfortunately, variances happen in testing.

Very true. All the more reason not to rely on one review.
